Job Description
Join the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in New York, NY (onsite) as a Risk Data Analytics Product Owner & Reporting Lead. In this role, you will help shape risk profile visualization and reporting capabilities across the Federal Reserve System by leading risk data analytics and AI-augmentation product work. You will translate complex risk data into tools and reports that support risk management workflows, while collaborating with governance partners to keep innovation aligned with system-wide needs.
Salary: USD 200,000 - 230,000 per year.
What you’ll do
- Act as strategic thought leader and central orchestrator for the Risk Function’s analytics and AI portfolio, leading use case identification and refinement, data mining and modeling, and solution prototyping using machine learning and data analytics platforms.
- Serve as liaison to the FRBNY AI Governance Council and the System Risk AI Community of Practice, balancing innovation with strategic fit, maintaining appropriate governance, and fostering knowledge sharing across the Federal Reserve System.
- Partner with stakeholders to frame analytical questions, define data requirements, run exploratory data analysis, engineer features, create visualizations, and develop narratives that convert complex findings into actionable business insights.
- Work with risk professionals across the Federal Reserve System (FRS) to address ambiguous business challenges, translate them into concrete analytical approaches, execute analysis, and communicate results through self-service tools and targeted dashboards.
- Turn initial hypotheses, questions, or unclear problems into structured analytical frameworks and data analysis approaches.
- Lead discovery sessions with risk professionals and subject matter experts to uncover the “question behind the question,” ensuring analyses address underlying needs and root causes.
- Hands-on with datasets and visualization tools (including Tableau, Power BI, Python, and R) to perform exploratory analysis, feature engineering, data modeling, and hypothesis testing.
- Apply data visualization best practices and advanced analytics techniques to produce intuitive, actionable insights for different risk audiences, including management and risk officers.
- Create repeatable processes and templates for common risk analytics use cases to enable self-service reporting capabilities.
- Run regular user feedback sessions, usability studies, and user acceptance testing to ensure visualization and reporting products match evolving risk management workflows.
- Design and develop business-driven analytics products such as interactive dashboards, risk profile reports, and KRI monitoring solutions leveraging structured and unstructured data from enterprise data infrastructure.
- Build strong partnerships across the FRS to understand risk reporting personas, workflows, pain points, visualization needs, and KRI requirements.
- Lead operationalization of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), including business logic and data sourcing requirements, automated monitoring workflows, and integration of KRIs into broader risk profile visualization and reporting interfaces.
- Lead discovery, capture, and refinement of AI use cases that enhance risk profile visualization and reporting, driving experimentation and path to production in partnership with data scientists and TG resources.
- Contribute to shaping a Risk Data Strategy and implement it through data sourcing and modeling requirements that support analytics and reporting products.
