Business Analyst-Product Owner - Data Analytics
Job Description
The Business Analyst and Product Owner for Data Analytics connects business stakeholders with the technology organization. This role drives requirements for reporting and analytics, defines data and KPI expectations, and owns the backlog to ensure delivered dashboards and data products match the business outcomes.
Role Overview
In this position, you will work with executives, department leaders, and associates to identify the questions the business needs answered and the decisions that depend on analytics. You will translate those needs into clear requirements for the technology team, validate delivered dashboards and reports against agreed expectations, and support Agile ceremonies and user acceptance testing (UAT).

- Convert business questions and KPIs into requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria suitable for technology delivery.
- Define required data elements, data sources, data definitions, and measurable success criteria for each data and analytics initiative.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog for data and analytics work, balancing stakeholder input with technical feasibility.
- Represent the business in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives.
- Validate delivered dashboards, reports, and data products against business requirements and lead efforts for UAT.
- Support consistent metric definitions and data governance standards so stakeholders across departments use a shared KPI language.
- Communicate analytics priorities, KPIs, and product updates to business stakeholders and senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Data Analyst, including gathering requirements and delivering data or reporting solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to interview non-technical stakeholders, identify the underlying business problem, and document it clearly.
- Strong analytical skills with comfort interpreting and questioning data to support decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to business leaders and articulate business needs to technical teams.
- Experience managing a backlog using Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with BI and reporting tools from a consumer and requirements perspective, including Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
