Senior Associate, Product Manager - Account Opening

Capital One is hiring a Senior Associate, Product Manager to help redefine account opening experiences. The role focuses on building customer-facing UI, using AI-driven approaches to solve problems, and developing digital capabilities that support comparing and bundling financial products. You will work in an agile environment with cross-functional teams to launch, iterate, and improve customer journeys.

Location and Work Setup

• Location: New York, NY (hybrid)
• On-site expectation: Follow Capital One’s hybrid policy for required presence at the designated office location

Compensation

• Salary (New York, NY): USD 121,300 - 138,400 per year
• Incentives: Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives may be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to defining the central data strategy for the Retail Bank, delivering data platforms that support emerging technologies and power business priorities.
• Work closely with customers, associates, designers, technologists, and data scientists to build cutting-edge solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement by starting with smaller bets, testing, learning, and pushing for meaningful change.
• Share product-building insights through stories that influence how teams think about building products and solving problems.
• Connect creatively by helping jumpstart a self-supporting community through the right tools, integration of off-the-shelf products, and hands-on effort.
• Use strategic judgment to focus on the right problem and avoid working on what does not move the business forward.
• Collaborate with tech teams to develop comprehensive acceptance criteria and identify any need for additional research to inform future feature design.
• Break down business epics into features and user stories, guiding the team toward a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) to validate a feature.
• Apply hypothesis-driven assessment of data to confirm that products and features address real business needs.
• Own and prioritize feature development roadmaps, ensuring required processes and procedures are followed to manage risk.
• Work autonomously within an agile environment to conduct research and develop features using new and evolving technology.
• Deliver well-managed product platforms for customers by understanding technology trends and architecture strategy.
• Participate in horizontal forums to build relationships across tech teams, designers, key internal stakeholders, and partner teams.
• Communicate a succinct product roadmap that delivers business value, elevates team results, and supports becoming a product matter expert.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Product Management

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following degrees, with the expectation the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field)
  • Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products
