Senior Digital Product Owner - Data Model

Caterpillar’s Rental Digital organization is hiring a Senior Digital Product Owner - Data Model to take ownership of the Helios Rental Data domain as a product. In this onsite role in Peoria, IL, you will help ensure rental data is available, dependable, and ready to support downstream analytics, reporting, and digital application use.

You will work with the Rental Data team to maintain data standards and close gaps between business needs and the Helios Rental Data Model, while also supporting dealer integration and deployment activities that bring dealer data into Helios. The role includes end-to-end validation, backlog management focused on data quality and model enhancements, and partnership across engineering, integration teams, and Rental SMEs to keep data delivery consistent across the rental ecosystem.

What you’ll do

• Support management of the Helios Rental Data domain by contributing to data availability, structure, quality, and readiness across key rental objects such as fleet, customers, jobsites, contracts, invoices, and rates, supporting overall data standardization and governance.
• Help maintain rental data attributes and identify gaps between business needs and the Helios Rental Data Model, tracking and driving actions to address those gaps.
• Assist in translating business requirements into data-related backlog items, features, and acceptance criteria aligned with downstream analytics, reporting, and digital application needs.
• Support dealer integration and deployment activities, including deployment planning and dealer onboarding coordination, kick-off sessions, pre-deployment reviews, and data mapping discussions.
• Help collect and profile dealer data to support integration readiness.
• Support end-to-end validation of dealer rental data ingested into Helios to confirm accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
• Identify, track, and assist in resolving data quality issues and defects.
• Identify, track, and assist in resolving missing, inconsistent, or misinterpreted attributes.
• Identify, track, and assist in resolving integration gaps across dealer systems.
• Assist in managing and maintaining the data backlog focused on data quality improvements, standardization, and model enhancements.
• Partner with engineering, integration teams, and Rental SMEs to resolve data-related issues and support consistent data delivery across the rental ecosystem.
• Contribute to enforcing data governance standards, documentation, and best practices for scalable, reliable rental data consumed by analytics, reporting, and digital platforms.

What you bring

• Experience in data modeling.
• AWS services preferred.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake.
• ETL knowledge.
• Experience working within Azure DevOps.
• CSPO or related certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of strategies, practices, and tools for resolving software problems, including the ability to manage software problems in installed software products.
• Knowledge of business analysis tasks and techniques to identify business needs and recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
• Knowledge of decision-making processes and tools to analyze situations and reach productive decisions.
• Knowledge and experience with the business aspects and operations of a software product, including managing an install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.

Compensation and location

Location: Peoria, IL (onsite). Pay range: USD 112,710 to 183,140 per year.
