Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services seeks a Sr. Technical Product Manager to shape and launch the next generation of medium voltage electrical products for Amazon data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the roadmap for Medium Voltage Switchgear (MVS) and Medium Voltage Transformers (MVT) for Amazon data centers
  • Partner with internal and external Amazon customers and support teams to gather medium voltage power distribution needs across current operations and future plans
  • Translate customer and stakeholder insights into product requirements, product vision, and the development roadmap for key data center MV electrical infrastructure segments
  • Coordinate multiple teams to build business cases, define product prioritization, and outline budget and resourcing for roadmap execution
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through design validation, testing, and production readiness to support on-time launches
  • Drive supplier qualification: evaluate and onboard MV equipment suppliers to meet AWS quality, reliability, and capacity requirements
  • Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives across the MV portfolio, including design-to-value, material optimization, and manufacturing process improvements
  • Advance data center MV electrical designs and communicate technical direction to Sr. Management
  • Own the full product lifecycle: idea conception, implementation, wide-scale deployment, and eventual deprecation
  • Develop product features and deployment strategies to improve profitability and penetration in new applications and use cases
  • Operate independently in a high-pressure environment, using sound judgment when guidelines are not clearly defined
  • Design, develop, launch, and support MV switchgear and transformer products that are critical to data center electrical infrastructure
  • Lead NPI efforts for MVS and MVT, coordinating design validation, prototype builds, testing, and production readiness milestones

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Experience owning or driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience delivering product features and managing tradeoffs
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions on technology decisions and product strategy
  • Experience representing and advocating for critical customer and stakeholder needs during executive-level prioritization and planning
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years leading large-scale technical or engineering programs, including thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and completing programs successfully
  • 5+ years working with medium voltage electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, or similar MV products)
  • 5+ years in data center, utility, or large-scale industrial power distribution environments
  • Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, IEC, and UL standards related to medium voltage switchgear and transformers

Travel Requirements

  • Travel of 30%+ to manufacturing facilities, AWS engineering hubs, data center sites, and supplier locations to drive NPI, supplier qualification, and at-scale deployment

  • Paid time off
  • Parental leave
  • Sign-on payments
  • Restricted stock units (RSUs)

Role focus: Create and drive the next generation of medium voltage products, including medium voltage switchgear (MVS) and medium voltage transformers (MVT), from concept through global deployment for data center electrical infrastructure.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional product design engineers (PDES), product lifecycle engineers (PLES), and STR. The PM-T partners with PDES on new product development, collaborates with PLEs on customer engagement and lessons learned, and coordinates with TPMs on first-of-a-kind deployments.
