Senior Technical Product Owner

EchoStar is seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner to lead a platform responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of retail wireless orders. The role supports AI-assisted software development practices while improving product management workflows and addressing state management and distributed transaction challenges.

Compensation

• Salary: USD 83,160 - 118,800 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the product vision for the order orchestration engine by translating complex business processes into scalable end-to-end workflows.
• Design order lifecycle management solutions covering validation, payment processing, network provisioning, activation, and fallout or error handling.
• Promote adoption of AI-driven tools to accelerate the Software Development Life Cycle and strengthen code quality.
• Break down product capabilities into actionable user stories and continually groom backlogs for full-stack integration teams.
• Lead Scrum activities and coordinate cross-team delivery by defining best practices and managing dependencies.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AI Application and Prompt Engineering to generate technical API contracts, user stories, and sample systems data.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architectures, asynchronous communication, and microservices design patterns.
• Strong skills in producing targeted systems analysis documentation, flow charts, and technical specifications.
• Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally, building stakeholder relationships, and operating in complex enterprise environments.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise across complex system integrations and distributed state management.
• Understanding of applying AI/ML concepts to software engineering for predictive analytics or automated error recovery.
• Familiarity with event streaming and message brokers including Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
• Industry experience with wireless retail systems and technologies such as Apigee, Java, SpringBoot, or Python.
• Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum experience: 5+ years in enterprise product ownership and software/API integration.
• Order system processing: 5+ years of experience designing and processing order systems.
• AWS: 5+ years, including Lambdas and Step Functions.
• Generative AI tools: 5+ years, including ChatGPT, Gemini, or GitHub Copilot.
• Offshore collaboration: 5+ years.
