Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Level 5 Software Engineer/Product Owner to help define what teams build next, ensure priorities are clear to stakeholders, and support delivery of high-value capabilities on schedule. This onsite role is based in Aurora, CO and requires an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of application.

You will own the product backlog and partner with stakeholders to translate goals into actionable priorities, while guiding development teams to execute with speed and alignment. Compensation for this position has a primary annual range of $177,000.00 - $265,600.00, with additional pay elements depending on the position.

Responsibilities

  • Define and prioritize the product backlog to support high-impact delivery.
  • Align stakeholder goals so teams understand what success looks like and why it matters.
  • Guide development teams to deliver high-value features on schedule.

Requirements

  • Level 5 criteria: Bachelor’s degree in science with 12+ years of software development experience; or a Master’s with 10+ years; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Clearance: Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at time of application.
  • Java: 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
  • Version control: Firm understanding of version control using Git and workflows on GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Agile delivery: Demonstrated success with Agile processes.
  • Cloud-native/containerization: Experience with Containerization, Kubernetes, and/or Helm charts.
  • Atlassian tools: Experience with Atlassian tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with decomposition of software requirements
  • Experience debugging code and conducting code peer reviews
  • Ability to motivate a large Agile team that supports multiple products
  • Ability to handle prioritization when requests come from multiple customers
  • Proven history of delegation
