Technology Product Owner

Citi is hiring a Technology Product Owner in the Technology team, blending business strategy with technology delivery to turn complex needs into product outcomes. This hybrid role in Jersey City, NJ offers a flexible schedule ( 3 days in the office and 2 days remote ), plus a comprehensive benefits package and learning and development resources to support your growth.

What you’ll do

• Serve as the main liaison between business users and technology teams, translating complex business needs into structured requirements, user stories, and process documentation.
• Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring priorities reflect business value and stay aligned with the strategic roadmap.
• Partner with stakeholders across different seniority levels to understand end-to-end business processes, build cross-functional alignment, and drive consensus on proposed solutions.
• Define and refine epics and user stories so development iterations deliver measurable value.
• Analyze complex business and data challenges, then break them down into actionable solutions in collaboration with engineering teams to remove delivery blockers.
• Identify and implement process improvements that simplify operations and enhance the efficiency of technology delivery.

What you bring

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to gather, document, and communicate business requirements through user stories, process documents, and presentations in a clear, structured way.
• Experience managing and prioritizing a product backlog in an agile delivery environment.
• Strong capability to engage and influence stakeholders across functions and seniority levels, facilitating alignment and driving decisions.
• Competence in data analysis to support problem-solving and inform business planning.
• Experience working directly with engineering or technology teams to define requirements and resolve implementation challenges.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
