Associate Product Manager

ACON Laboratories is seeking an Associate Product Manager to support product planning and coordination for assigned ACON products. In this onsite role in San Diego, you will help drive product development through launch while contributing to market research, documentation, training support, promotional activities, and ongoing product improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team to manage the product development lifecycle from conception through launch.
• Conduct market research to uncover trends and/or customer needs for targeted audiences.
• Help develop product specification documents covering revisions to existing products and the creation of new products.
• Support creation, revision, and customization of product packaging and labeling within the assigned business segment, and coordinate effectively with packaging and labeling staff.
• Proofread and edit materials including product inserts, user manuals, sell sheets, brochures, and presentations to ensure correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Create product launch training and support materials for internal colleagues and customers for products in the business segment.
• Assist Downstream Marketing with product promotional activities such as press releases, advertisements, sales tools, and website content.
• Support continuous product improvement through market trend surveillance, competitor analysis, and review of product complaint trends.
• Contribute to strategies for competitive positioning intended to increase sales and promotions.
• Act as a liaison between departments to collect customer feedback and share product development status and information.
• Assist with new product requests and other business initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or another life science degree.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Associate Product Manager capacity in a regulated industry (medical devices or pharmaceuticals).
• Technical or scientific background, plus 1 to 2 years in R&D, or 1 to 2 years in sales or research (IVD industry experience is a plus).
• Ability to learn and assess new technology quickly.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, scientific journals, and technical procedure manuals.
• Capability to manage multiple projects at once and complete work under tight deadlines.
• Self-starter who can work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written, and phone communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Compensation and Job Details

• Salary range: USD 63,000 - 68,000 per year
• Pay: $63,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
