Socure

Principal Product Operations Manager

New York, NY $215k - $260k/yr Full time Posted 1h ago

Job Description

Own Socure’s centralized product operations hub that connects strategy to execution through shared systems, reporting, process, and planning cadence.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and configure a core product management and roadmapping platform (e.g., Aha!, Productboard, or equivalent), including workspaces, fields, workflows, scorecards, and permissions.
  • Own the connection between the product management platform and an engineering work-tracking system (e.g., Jira), including field mapping, status synchronization, and maintaining consistent data across tools.
  • Manage the broader product technology stack by evaluating new tools, preventing tool sprawl, and maintaining integrations across roadmap, delivery, feedback, and CRM systems.
  • Build and maintain intake and prioritization workflows used by product teams to submit, score, and rank requests.
  • Document product operations system configuration and standard operating procedures to reduce single-point-of-failure knowledge.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports that provide leadership and embedded product teams with a dependable view of roadmap status, delivery progress, and portfolio health.
  • Define and track core product operations metrics (examples include cycle time, roadmap adherence, planning hygiene, and tool adoption).
  • Centralize and facilitate Product Performance metrics definition, telemetry builds, and availability to central data and BI teams; coordinate dashboard and reporting builds with the central Business Intelligence team to improve insight speed for the Product Team.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales/RevOps, and Engineering to incorporate commercial and delivery inputs (e.g., CRM/ARR data) into product prioritization and reporting.
  • Support recurring reporting cadences including business reviews, quarterly/annual planning, and board updates using clean, trusted data.
  • Monitor data quality and enforce hygiene standards across systems that feed reporting.
  • Design and document repeatable processes for planning, prioritization, intake, and roadmap reviews to standardize how teams operate across pods.
  • Identify lifecycle friction and manual, duplicative work in product development, then fix issues through process improvements, automation, or tooling.
  • Create templates, playbooks, and checklists (for example: feature intake, roadmap reviews, and launch readiness) to reduce administrative burden for product managers.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for product managers and embedded product ops partners on how to use shared tools and processes effectively through training, office hours, and documentation.
  • Facilitate cross-functional handoffs between Product, Engineering, Design, and GTM so work moves smoothly.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize process across pods while preserving flexibility where needed.
  • Partner with product leadership to translate high-level strategy and company priorities into a concrete, trackable roadmap and planning cadence.
  • Run the planning rhythm across quarterly/annual planning cycles, roadmap reviews, and business reviews to keep execution aligned as priorities shift.
  • Monitor progress against strategic priorities and flag early when day-to-day execution drifts from leadership intent.
  • Support trade-off and prioritization discussions when competing asks conflict with stated strategic priorities.
  • Ensure pod-level work visibly ladders up to company-level strategic themes.
  • Close the loop after major planning moments so decisions made in reviews are reflected in the systems used day to day.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in Product Operations, Business/Sales Operations, or a Product Analyst/Management role, ideally supporting or working inside a product or engineering organization.
  • Hands-on experience with a product roadmapping/PPM tool (e.g., Aha!, Productboard, Jira Product Discovery) and a work-tracking tool (e.g., Jira, Linear, Azure DevOps).
  • Comfort building dashboards and reports in the PPM tool and/or BI/reporting tools (examples include Tableau, Looker, Google Sheets, Excel); SQL is a plus.
  • Experience using LLM-based tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity) to augment and optimize role-related workflows, dashboards, and research.
  • Experience designing and documenting repeatable processes for intake, prioritization, and planning cadences (not only running an existing process).
  • Working knowledge of PDLC and SDLC processes, including roadmaps, backlogs, sprints, prioritization frameworks (e.g., RICE, WSJF), launch types and product profiles (e.g., 0-1 products, mature products), and PDLC processes to support them.
  • Comfort facilitating conversations where strategic priorities and day-to-day execution compete, and guiding stakeholders to decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills to transform messy or scattered data into actionable insights.
  • A generalist mindset and ability to move between technical configuration, process design, and data/reporting work in the same week.
  • A bias toward identifying inefficiency and fixing it even when it goes beyond the stated scope.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, acting as connective tissue between central leadership and embedded product teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously on a small, fast-moving team where priorities can shift.

Why this role matters

  • Product teams move faster and make better decisions when the systems, process, and data behind their work are trustworthy.
  • Without a dedicated owner, strategy and execution can drift apart, leaving teams busy but misaligned with leadership priorities.
  • In a centralized/embedded Product Ops model, this role provides the connective tissue so roadmap data can be trusted, planning decisions show up in sprint work, and leadership can get clear answers about execution status.
  • As the organization grows, the role can split into Systems & Tools, Process, and Data & Analytics; today it operates as a single owner across all three.
