Location: Cedar Rapids, IA, with a hybrid work setup. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of product management or ownership experience. Experience in financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define product outcomes and OKRs, translating strategy into actionable steps to support discovery, design, development, and delivery.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle using a Now, Next, Later framework to maintain a rolling 12-month roadmap.
  • Keep informed about industry trends and competitive shifts; propose new technologies and features for teams to consider.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize new features and enhancements, capturing them in Jira.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders to influence product decisions and direction.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions and ROI-focused conversations to justify initiatives.
  • Assess new requests using diverse techniques to meet customer and internal needs.
  • Engage with customers to uncover pain points, feature opportunities, showcase capabilities, and outline go-to-market strategies.
  • Act as the voice of the customer in decision-making.
  • Partner with others to create screen prototypes and wireframes, gather feedback, and refine for performance.
  • Collaborate with the Agile Development Team and Scrum Master to lead backlog planning and support release planning.
  • Maintain the sprint backlog by refining, estimating, and prioritizing work.
  • Work with BSAs, developers, testers, and UX to clarify requirements.
  • Participate in daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Utilize AHA, ProductBoard, or Jira Aligned to manage the product backlog.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines
  • 4+ years of experience as a product manager or product owner
  • Experience in the financial services or banking industry is a plus
  • Experience with Agile and/or SAFe in a product owner role
  • Proven creative problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in cross-functional and virtual environments
  • Can-do attitude, high energy, self-motivation, and strategic thinking
  • Strong customer centricity to design strategies that deliver positive experiences across touchpoints with GreatAmerica products and services
  • Ability to anticipate shifting market priorities and evolving customer needs to drive value
  • Ability to lead deep-dive product discovery, requirements gathering, and design sessions
  • Skill in planning and sequencing work to manage dependencies and optimize resource use toward KPI-driven results
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills
  • Passion for learning about new technologies and driving innovation
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
