Product Operations Rating Manager

American Modern Insurance Group, Inc. (a Munich Re company) is building product operations capability to support insurance policy administration, pricing, and product strategy. In this hybrid role based in Amelia, OH, you will lead Product Operations Enablement analysts and provide technical and operational oversight for Earnix, Guidewire, and related systems, ensuring product changes move from configuration to delivery with quality and accountability.

You will partner with Product Management and Product Owners to operationalize priorities, translate complex requirements into maintainable configuration, and remove roadblocks that impact delivery. The focus of your work includes accurate implementation of rate and rule changes, expert troubleshooting, testing governance, and documentation that supports technical and business teams.

What you’ll do

• Lead, coach, develop, and support Product Operations Enablement analysts
• Establish workload priorities and ensure appropriate resource allocation across initiatives
• Manage team capacity planning, work intake, and scheduling activities
• Develop team expertise in Earnix, Guidewire, and related systems
• Conduct performance management, coaching, and career development activities
• Identify staffing needs and support Strategic Workforce Planning
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Provide oversight of Earnix configuration activities and related business requirements
• Ensure rate, rule, form, and model changes are implemented accurately and efficiently
• Review and approve configuration approaches, testing strategies, and implementation plans
• Establish and maintain best practices for consistent, concise, and maintainable system configuration
• Monitor execution progress and remove roadblocks impacting delivery
• Partner with Product Management on prioritization, planning, and operationalization activities
• Collaborate regularly with managers to report progress and roadblocks
• Own documentation of processes and procedures
• Provide expert guidance on Earnix, Guidewire, data integration, and rating engine functionality
• Support analysis of complex technical and business requirements
• Serve as an escalation point for configuration challenges and recurring issues
• Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of system configuration defects
• Ensure effective testing practices, quality controls, and governance are in place for implementations
• Participate throughout the product development life cycle, bridging the software development life cycle with heavy involvement in analysis, design, configuration, and testing
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and provide technical support for Earnix, application functions, and defined documentation used for technical and business reference
• Develop, coordinate, and execute test plans to ensure tests are completed successfully
• Develop methods to test business-driven solutions as they relate to product and pricing strategy
• Train associates on procedure changes and new processes
• Provide Earnix training and certifications needed for the current version of the solution
• Monitor, enhance, and support business-related functions using Earnix

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an analytical role or analyst-type functions
• 3+ years of experience configuring Rating Engine
• Expertise in Earnix Configuration
• Expertise with Guidewire and rating engine functionality
• Understanding of how Rating Engine, Guidewire, Data, Pricing, Earning, and forms integrate
• Leadership and team development experience
• Strategic planning and execution experience
• Capacity management and work prioritization experience
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving
• Ability to express complex technical concepts
• Expertise translating highly complex technical and business requirements
• Expertise working with Earnix and Python technologies/platforms
• Experience deciphering configuration impacts based on Earnix/Python code and how it relates within various systems
• Expertise with a web-based policy administration system, user interface, integrated development environment, query tools, and rating engines
• Expertise with capacity management and work scheduling efforts
• Expertise with work product triage, estimation, and planning
• Experience leading a team
• Experience with Strategic Workforce Planning
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Analytical or Business Field
• Experience with Guidewire Configuration, Python, or other comparable insurance policy administration system
• Insurance knowledge
