Product Owner
Job Description
Plume is hiring a Product Owner who translates strategic vision into actionable software features, refines backlogs, and leads cross-functional teams to improve healthcare experiences for trans lives.
Responsibilities
- Turn complex healthcare requirements, operational needs, and cross-functional feedback into clear, actionable plans for engineering and design teams.
- Own and refine the product backlog with meticulously defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases for development teams.
- Lead daily Agile ceremonies, including planning, backlog grooming, standups, and retrospectives, following established Agile frameworks.
- Convert high level product strategy and operational feedback into well-structured technical requirements and workflows.
- Build trust across Engineering, Design, Marketing, Clinical Operations, and Care Coordinators as a high-EQ connector who calmly resolves conflicting priorities.
- Manage feature delivery timelines and release schedules to sustain a predictable, high-velocity output across the team.
- Use data to tell compelling stories that inform decisions, drawing on usage metrics, operational analytics, and bug reports for prioritization and trade-offs.
- Monitor sprint metrics, velocity, bug counts, and release health to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous process improvement.
- Incorporate user feedback, usability testing findings, and operational analytics into sprint iterations with a growth mindset.
- Communicate transparently with internal stakeholders about release timelines, delivery risks, and scope changes.
- Ensure all delivered tools and updates comply with HIPAA and patient data privacy standards.
- Standardize user story templates, acceptance criteria formats, and sprint documentation in Jira and Confluence to boost efficiency.
Requirements
- Genuine passion for using product delivery to transform healthcare access for trans lives.
- 3β5+ years of hands-on experience as a Product Owner, Delivery Lead, or Senior Business Analyst with a track record of delivering software features.
- Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), story writing, acceptance criteria, and delivery execution.
- Collaborative mindset focused on getting it right, with demonstrated effective communication, trust-building, and equanimity under challenges.
- Proven ability to write clear user-facing release notes and comprehensive how-to guides to support launches and adoption.
- Open, adaptable attitude that treats feedback and changing requirements as opportunities to learn and iterate.
- Experience with 3rd-party API integrations and a strong technical understanding of backend vs frontend concepts (hands-on coding or HTML/CSS writing not required).
- Proficient with Jira, Confluence, G Suite, and Google Data Studio.
- Strong verbal and written skills, able to articulate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
