Product Owner
Job Description
RitePros is hiring a Product Owner to own subscription platform outcomes end to end. This onsite role in Portland, ME (with required travel to client locations across the USA) focuses on building strategy, discovery, requirements, delivery, analytics and experimentation, and go-to-market rollouts across billing, dunning, and cancellation workflows.
What you’ll work on
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for subscription platforms, covering strategy, discovery, requirements, design, development, launch, and post-release optimization for purchase, upgrade, billing, dunning, and cancellation workflows.
- Turn business goals and end-user needs into a product strategy, roadmap, and prioritized epics, features, and user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
- Define subscription lifecycle capabilities across domain-driven microservices, partnering with engineering on API contracts, JSON payload schemas, and event-driven integrations between front-end and back-end services.
- Design scalable billing and payment models for direct-bill customers and multiple payment methods, including payment retry/dunning logic, proration, and entitlement management.
- Lead experimentation and analytics by defining hypotheses, designing A/B tests, and partnering with data science on sizing and significance to improve signup funnels, trial-to-paid conversion, and retention.
- Define canonical metrics (KPIs/OKRs) and build analytics and observability dashboards using tools such as Mixpanel, Power BI, and New Relic, measuring funnel performance, latency, throughput, error rates, and subscription growth with reconciled definitions across product, marketing, and finance.
- Partner with UX/UI to define user journeys, workflows, paywalls, and customer experiences, validated through in-person user research and usability testing.
- Integrate third-party services and Dealer Services Platform (DSP) by defining data contracts and reconciliation logic across services and asset types.
- Drive backend-driven UI and configuration-driven capabilities so business teams can deploy changes without a full release cycle.
- Manage the product backlog using impact, confidence, and effort aligned to business outcomes, sequencing work into now/next/later horizons.
- Lead cross-functional delivery across engineering, UX, billing, DSP integrations, finance, legal/compliance, and regional business teams, facilitating Agile and Lean ceremonies (refinement, iteration planning, demos, retrospectives).
- Own go-to-market and phased rollouts, including pilot deployments and blast-radius-controlled cutovers, plus production validation and post–go-live support.
- Apply AI/ML capabilities to product workflows with governance that includes field-level validation, conflict checks, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Monitor competitive and market trends to recommend best-in-class solutions and strengthen product positioning.
What you bring
- Product Owner or Product Manager experience owning subscription products end to end.
- Deep subscription lifecycle and billing knowledge: trial, conversion, billing cycles, dunning/payment retries, proration, cancellation, and entitlements.
- Payments platform and integration experience (example: Stripe), including multiple payment methods and direct-bill models.
- Technical fluency to collaborate with engineering on APIs, data contracts, event-driven workflows, and microservices architectures, including the ability to reason about system behavior and trade-offs.
- Experimentation and analytics skills, including A/B testing, funnel analysis, and opportunity sizing, with tools such as Mixpanel, Power BI/Tableau, Google Analytics, and SQL.
- Observability experience using New Relic to monitor latency, throughput, and error rates.
- Familiarity with cloud and architecture such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including microservices and API-based integrations.
- Experience with AI/ML-enabled product features with governance and guardrails.
- Agile/SAFe delivery and tooling experience using Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Azure DevOps, or Trello.
- Design collaboration and facilitation using Figma and experience with design thinking workshops, user research, and usability testing.
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications, PRDs, and actionable backlogs.
- Data instrumentation and canonical metric definition with reconciliation across data sources (KPIs/OKRs).
- Stakeholder management across executives, engineering, design, finance, and legal/compliance.
- Competitive analysis and market research for product positioning and strategy.
