Job Description

Allvue Systems is hiring a Product Owner for the Nexius Data Platform team in San Diego, CA (onsite). In this role, you will turn product strategy into clear, executable requirements while partnering with a lean engineering team in an agile environment. If you enjoy working closely with clients and delivery teams to improve data consolidation, reporting workflows, integrations, and self-service analytics, this position offers a direct path to impact.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog by defining, refining, and sequencing epics, features, and user stories aligned to business priorities and customer value.
  • Partner with a lean engineering team to drive sprint execution and deliver high-quality product capabilities.
  • Lead backlog refinement and sprint planning, and participate in PI planning and release planning to keep delivery momentum and reduce blockers.
  • Evaluate and recommend backlog priorities and execution trade-offs with engineering, balancing customer value, technical constraints, quality, and timelines.
  • Coordinate release readiness with teams including Engineering, Data Engineering, QA, Infrastructure, and Design.
  • Serve as the primary product representative for Nexius Data Platform clients, ensuring customer needs are reflected in backlog priorities.
  • Translate customer feedback and business needs into actionable requirements covering data consolidation, reporting workflows, data model coverage, integrations, and self-service analytics.
  • Communicate product updates, upcoming releases, and roadmap priorities to both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies with Engineering, Data Engineering, Design, Infrastructure, Customer Experience, Sales, and Professional Services.
  • Collaborate with adjacent product teams on source-system integrations, data pipelines, dimensional models, BI Hub capabilities, reporting solutions, and sequencing.
  • Use product expertise to present, demonstrate, and document functionality for internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Apply strong data platform knowledge (including ETL/ELT, CDC, batch and near-real-time ingestion, dimensional modeling, and data quality controls) to support solution design with engineering.
  • Resolve workflow and integration challenges leveraging Snowflake-based data warehousing, BI Hub, Power BI, APIs, Snowflake Shares, and ODBC connectivity.
  • Define success metrics for delivered features and monitor post-release performance.
  • Support client adoption, sales enablement, and Go-to-Market readiness.
  • Continue improving the product through ongoing backlog refinement informed by customer feedback, usage data, adoption metrics, and business priorities.

What you bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, or Business Analysis within financial technology or investment management software.
  • Experience managing product backlogs, refining requirements, and delivering agile software products in data platform or analytics environments.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, Change Data Capture (CDC), data warehousing, and self-service reporting workflows.
  • Working knowledge of alternative investment data domains, including fund accounting, portfolio reporting, investor reporting, and CRM/deal data.
  • Proven success delivering software products in agile, cross-functional development environments.
  • Client-facing skills: gathering requirements, validating solutions, and translating business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Ability to operate independently within an assigned product domain while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
