Product Owner
Job Description
Drive product vision and strategy while maximizing value delivery through agile, metrics-led execution.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate product vision goals and roadmap aligned to business strategy and market opportunities
- Serve as product sponsor, making strategic investment and prioritization decisions based on business value
- Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing features, enhancements, defects, and technical debt
- Define acceptance criteria and business outcomes that guide development efforts
- Collaborate with business leaders, customers, engineering, quality engineering, and operations teams
- Facilitate ongoing stakeholder engagement to gather and validate requirements
- Lead agile delivery ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and release planning
- Support delivery teams by clarifying requirements and validating completed features
- Make final Go/No-Go decisions for major releases when required
- Monitor product performance, customer adoption KPIs, and ensure compliance with governance, security, and quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives using value-driven delivery practices in an agile environment
- Use product management tools to manage roadmaps and backlogs effectively
- Make data-driven decisions informed by metrics and customer feedback
- Lead customer journey mapping, business process assessments, and discovery workshops to identify current-state challenges, future-state opportunities, and business transformation objectives
- Analyze and document end-to-end business transactions, including process flows, data flows, and operational dependencies across business and technology landscapes
- Identify process gaps, testing gaps, environment constraints, and test data challenges impacting delivery quality and business outcomes
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Business SMEs, Product Teams, Architects, Development Teams, QE Teams, and Operations stakeholders to define optimal solutions
- Establish and govern delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and remediation actions using Agile and Jira-based portfolio management practices
- Define and execute roadmap-driven initiatives, ensuring objectives are met through planning, execution, governance, and outcome tracking
- Provide executive-level status reporting, risk assessments, decision support, and progress updates to client leadership and program stakeholders
- Demonstrate stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills across business and technology leadership teams
- Apply expertise across the Life Annuity Insurance value chain, including New Business Underwriting, Policy Administration, Billing, Claims, and Servicing
Requirements
- Experience managing product strategy and translating business goals into product outcomes
- Ability to manage product backlog, including epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Background facilitating agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning
- Experience defining and validating requirements and outcomes with delivery teams
- Data-driven approach using metrics and customer feedback to support prioritization and decisions
- Experience with customer journey mapping, business process assessments, and discovery workshops
- Ability to analyze and document end-to-end business transactions, process flows, data flows, and operational dependencies
- Skilled at identifying process and testing gaps, environment constraints, and test data challenges
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technology teams
- Knowledge of the Life Annuity Insurance value chain (New Business Underwriting, Policy Administration, Billing, Claims, and Servicing)

Compensation
- Salary range: $140,000.00 to $145,000.00 per year
- Variable compensation: bonus or variable payout component based on individual and organizational performance
