Product Owner

Michael Silver & Company is seeking an experienced Product Owner to support the advisory portfolio in an onsite role in Indianapolis, IN. In this position, you will help shape and communicate a clear product vision, ensure delivery stays aligned with firm strategy, and drive customer-focused outcomes across multiple platforms and products.

What you’ll do

• Set the product direction by defining and articulating a clear vision for the product portfolio to stakeholders, development teams, and leadership, incorporating input from business partners and senior leaders.
• Connect roadmap and business strategy by ensuring the product roadmap supports overarching business objectives and reflects industry best practices.
• Spot opportunities through ongoing analysis of market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies, in consultation with the Business Leader.
• Own a suite of related applications by managing business applications that work cohesively together, serving as the domain expert and champion for the portfolio’s needs.
• Run the backlog by developing, maintaining, and prioritizing the product backlog using business goals, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.
• Act as “Voice of the Customer” to ensure development addresses user pain points and improves customer experience. Solicit feedback from focus groups, identify business needs, and prioritize backlog requests based on business value.
• Drive product adoption with an ongoing cadence of education on product features, reporting, and best practices. Own education for new hires as part of organic growth and via merger or acquisition.
• Partner with Agile teams by leading backlog grooming, sprint planning, product increment planning, and user story prioritization, while educating teams on Agile delivery best practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, UX designers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
• Measure impact by defining and tracking key performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and support continuous improvement.

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, or a related role in an Agile environment.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of related applications or platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to align product strategy with business goals and customer needs.
• Experience managing a product backlog, including negotiating often competing priorities with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Background in business applications, enterprise software, or digital transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience coaching business stakeholders through project planning and Agile ceremonies.
• Hands-on use of the Atlassian suite (including Jira and Confluence) for backlog and workflow management.
• Excellent communication and leadership, with the ability to align expectations based on highest business value.
• Ability to guide cross-functional teams, balance multiple concurrent projects, and keep initiatives organized and moving forward.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
