Job Description

This onsite Product Owner role at KPIT Technologies GmbH centers on defining and managing system features and backlog while keeping customer expectations aligned with engineering delivery. The position emphasizes automotive domain expertise and system engineering execution, including MBSE using MagicDraw and SysMLv2, plus delivery planning through Agile (Scrum/SAFe).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Product Owner (as applicable) to define, prioritize, and manage system features and backlog.
  • Ensure alignment between customer expectations and engineering deliverables.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the automotive domain relevant to the project, such as ADAS, Chassis, Restraints, Upfitter, Trailer Tow, and TPMS.
  • Analyze and interpret customer needs, translating them into actionable system requirements.
  • Understand subsystem features, functionalities, and behavior to support clear requirement definition.
  • Ensure proper decomposition of system requirements into subsystem-level requirements.
  • Understand and manage interfaces between features and subsystems, including overall system compatibility and integration.
  • Develop and maintain system requirements, boundary diagrams, and capability definitions.
  • Support system architecture definition and validation.
  • Use MagicDraw (or equivalent MBSE tools) to produce system models and documentation using SysMLv2.
  • Plan, track, and execute work using Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe.
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across other subsystems (for example, Body, Lighting, Powertrain, and Vehicle Access).
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including customers and internal leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of System Engineering principles.
  • Automotive domain experience, preferably with ADAS and Chassis systems.
  • Ability to derive capabilities, system requirements, interfaces, and SysML artifacts.
  • Hands-on experience with MagicDraw or similar MBSE tools on SysMLv2.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum / SAFe).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to system integration and validation processes.
  • Understanding of end-to-end vehicle systems and architecture.
