Job Description

This Product Owner role is based in New York, NY (onsite) with a salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000 per year, and is focused on translating business needs into actionable product work for Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Underwriting, Operations, Billing, and Product teams to collect and analyze business requirements.
  • Convert requirements into features, user stories, and acceptance criteria that development teams can deliver.
  • Own and refine the product backlog, supporting PI Planning, sprint planning, reviews, and demos.
  • Provide functional guidance to development and QA throughout delivery.
  • Support system integrations, API-related requirements, and data flow analysis.
  • Assist with testing, defect resolution, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Document business processes, workflows, and business rules.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Surety, Commercial Insurance, Specialty Insurance, or a related domain.
  • Understanding of the Surety bond lifecycle, including new business, renewals, cancellations, and endorsements/riders.
  • 2+ years experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar Agile role.
  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, system integrations, data flows, and JSON.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration.
