Senior Product Manager
Job Description
Lifetime Brands is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead a key Home Decor category in Medford, Massachusetts, in a hybrid work setup. The role centers on developing innovative products, improving the profitability of existing lines, and guiding category managers, all while coordinating across internal teams and retailer partners.
Responsibilities
- Own the category's sales and gross margin dollars, with a target to maintain or increase gross margin percentage over the year.
- Drive innovation through new concepts, pricing approaches, packaging, and presentation ideas.
- Put the end consumer at the forefront to ensure products connect with the target customer.
- Engage with a range of retailers, from traditional brick-and-mortar to online and mail-order catalog merchants.
- Provide direct retailer support on packaging, presentations, and execution, delivering programs and products that improve margins while ensuring product placement and ongoing support.
- Coordinate with suppliers to secure accurate and timely information on design, packaging, samples, regulatory and production requirements, and shipping dates.
- Develop an understanding of production processes and materials to better comprehend manufacturing.
- Participate in re-engineering products to achieve targeted price points.
- Ensure on-time delivery of new programs by planning raw material availability, production, inspection, packaging, shipping, and customs considerations.
- Maintain inventory at levels directed by the Division President, including monthly forecast reviews and identification of discontinued or overstock quantities.
- Visit stores regularly to stay informed about competitor activity and to enhance knowledge of factors affecting newness, uniqueness, and creativity.
- Travel overseas to factories as needed to understand materials and production methods used by suppliers within the category.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to keep timelines on track and ensure timely information sharing.
- Coach and develop Assistant Category Managers and Category Managers to prepare them for the next level.
- Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through requirements, design, development, testing, and launch.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Sourcing experience is required.
- Experience with SAP and/or PDS; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of gross margin calculations and their application in our business.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong time management, and a solid understanding of the retail industry.
