Senior Product Owner, Product Development
Job Description
Ascensus is seeking a Product Owner to own the roadmap and execution of a defined Program, covering Retirement, Government Savings, and Health Savings. In this onsite role in Pennsylvania, you will guide an Agile delivery team by translating vision into prioritized work, ensuring conceptual and technical integrity, and driving sprint-level outcomes through active product oversight.
You will establish and maintain the product plan for one or more Scrum teams, set direction for releases, and work as the primary internal and external point of contact for updates and feedback. The position also emphasizes organizational readiness involvement, ongoing KPI definition, and leadership across complex business partnerships.
What you will do
- Create and maintain the Scrum Team Roadmap (or multiple Scrum Team Roadmaps).
- Prioritize and sequence the Team Backlog based on business value or ROI.
- Convey the Vision and Goals at the start of every Release and Sprint.
- Represent the customer by interfacing and engaging with the customer.
- Collaborate with the Scrum team on feature development, including building and maintaining a product backlog, contributing to/reviewing/approving user stories, providing sprint support, and participating in UAT testing.
- When appropriate, partner with BAs and Technology to create Behavior Driven Development (BDD) stories and help elaborate Epics, Themes, and Features into user stories granular enough for single-sprint achievement.
- Participate in daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Inspect product progress at the end of every Sprint and use the authority to accept or reject completed work; adjust the course of the project as needed after each Sprint.
- Maintain relationships with business and client stakeholders to understand current and evolving needs.
- Participate in organizational readiness activities.
- Serve as the primary internal and external point person for the team for updates and feedback.
- Identify and maintain the KPIs needed to support the team and the assigned product.
- Independently lead and manage complex projects and interactions with business partners.
- Stay informed about new technologies and introduce innovative solutions to build trust and exceed customer expectations and outcomes.
- Establish annual goals, objectives, and outcomes for product(s), and track and monitor key performance indicators.
What you bring
- Undergraduate degree in business or technology related fields.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong working knowledge of Agile and SDLC methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and executing Agile principles with strong technical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high-quality output that adheres to standards, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Strong consultative and well-articulated communication and writing skills, with the ability to interact and influence at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience with facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, change management, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Naturally curious and detail oriented, with strong analytic and research skills.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Confluence, JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Aha!; experience administering these tools is a plus.

Supervision
- No direct reports, but provides critical leadership to drive the scrum team(s).
- Coaches and mentors other Product Owners and/or other Scrum Team members.
- Participates in steering Center of Practice meetings for business line and/or firm.
Location: Pennsylvania (onsite). Minimum experience: 10 years.
