Product Owner Senior

At Allianz Life, you will help shape the product direction that delivers real outcomes for customers, end-users, and delivery teams. This Senior Product Owner role combines product strategy with hands-on leadership across the full development lifecycle, supported by a benefits package designed for everyday well-being and long-term security.

Location: Minneapolis, MN (onsite)
Salary range: $82,000 - $124,000 per year
Required experience: 2+ years
Education: 4-year degree required or equivalent work experience

What you’ll do

• Articulate and define the vision, benefits, and roadmap for the team’s product.
• Oversee and approve work across the entire development lifecycle, including design, development, and product lifecycle activities.
• Partner with prospective users, customers, and cross-functional teams to identify needs and translate them into product requirements, user stories, and sprint plans.
• Serve as the product team leader and liaison to end-users, driving continuous feedback and improvement.
• Maintain accountability for overall project delivery and work toward successful product outcomes.
• Ensure the Product Backlog is transparent, visible, and understood by relevant stakeholders.
• Create and maintain the product roadmap, identify epic priorities, and approve and collaborate on user stories and backlog refinement plans tied to SDLC product approvals.
• Deliver presentations covering work product and plans.
• Engage daily with cross-functional delivery teams to strengthen communication between customers/partners and delivery.
• Guide the team to maximize the value delivered through their work.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies.
• Communicate with leadership and business at all levels on work progress, roadmap updates, and risks/issues.
• Research, analyze, and collaborate with end-users and customers to identify unmet needs and future enhancements.
• Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources, including generative AI.

How you’ll work

You will report to the Senior Director, Product Manager.

What you bring

• 6+ years of experience required (Life and Annuity experience preferred).
• 2+ years as a product owner on large-scale projects working with internal and external resources.
• SAFe Agile experience is a plus.
• 4-year degree required or equivalent work experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future (includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas).
