Senior Product Owner

The Senior Product Owner is accountable for defining, prioritizing, and managing the development of bank product(s). The role works closely with Product Managers, Technology, Lines of Business, Risk, and other partners to improve customer experience, support business outcomes, and drive growth through disciplined delivery and continuous prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Manager(s), Technology, Lines of Business, Risk, and other stakeholders to define and maximize specific bank product(s).
• Define, prioritize, and manage product development to exceed customer expectations and contribute to Bank growth.
• Support the definition, development, and implementation of product roadmap deliverables, capabilities, and adoption to align with business outcomes.
• Lead a continuous prioritization process to maximize total value, manage risk, and deliver other business benefits across the Bank.
• In environments that use SAFe, act as a SAFe proponent and deliver through an ART by ensuring team backlogs align with customer and stakeholder needs.
• Manage and prioritize the team’s backlog by articulating and delivering new features from ideation through production release.
• Work with senior Product Owners or leadership to establish annual goals, objectives, and outcomes for product(s) and customer satisfaction, including tracking key performance indicators and outcomes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional groups to gain agreement, approval, or guidance, including Lines of Business, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Fraud, Architecture, and related functions.
• Provide transparency and ongoing communications with line of business partners and key stakeholders.
• Make decisions that support regulatory and compliance needs, new revenue growth, process optimization, and enterprise analytics.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to resolve problems and make decisions focused on the greatest outcome for the product and the Bank.
• Engage with research teams to define and implement customer usability testing, concept validation, and co-creation studies to identify customer needs and solutions.
• Partner closely with third parties to understand product releases, remediate defects and outages, and support a seamless experience for employees and customers.
• Maintain and provide product information to users and partners to support training and documentation needs.
• Monitor industry trends and participate in relevant forums, professional associations, and conferences.
• Assume responsibility for risk by openly exchanging ideas and elevating concerns, and by personally following established policies and procedures.
• Operate within the Bank’s risk assessment framework by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
• Support and adhere to Enterprise governance processes.
• If appropriate, support SAFe mindset practices across product teams, including maintaining a healthy product backlog and participating in team ceremonies such as sprint reviews or demos.
• If appropriate, encourage delivery of roadmap improvements through potentially releasable code within each sprint.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and related work experience.
• 4+ years of related experience.
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) desired.
• Product management background preferred, including ability to interact with and influence within the organization.
• Ability to consult and articulate key messages to all levels within the organization.
• Basic business acumen and understanding of business processes related to your product and customers.
• Experience working in Agile or SAFe development a plus.
• Ability to foster creative thinking and innovation within the work environment.
• Strong analytical skills to work through concepts and data, then present clear, well-thought-out solutions.
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently and across teams in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
