Spectroscopy Product Manager
Job Description
The Spectroscopy Product Manager will lead the Raman and Non-Raman spectroscopy product lines, defining vision and roadmaps, guiding market strategy, and coordinating with applications and engineering teams at Wasatch Photonics.
Location
This onsite role is based in Morrisville, NC (Raleigh/Durham's Research Triangle Park). Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Define the long term vision, strategic plan and roadmaps for Raman and Non-Raman spectroscopy offerings to align with the business strategy.
- Develop competitive analyses to shape market strategy, influence product positioning and pricing decisions.
- Develop and maintain sales and technical support tools to enhance the customer experience.
- Collaborate with Application and Engineering teams to define product and market requirements for new product introductions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders across functions to ensure requirements are understood and specifications are met.
- Lead new product introductions through the organization's development processes.
- Oversee product lifecycle management based on ongoing customer insights to maintain vitality of the product lines.
- Direct reporting to the Vice President of Engineering.
- Foster a collaborative, positive team environment to support team effectiveness.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in an applicable science or engineering discipline is required.
- Experience: More than three years of experience in product management, product development, or related field; leadership experience and exceptional communication skills are valued in graduates.
- Industry experience: Specific experience in optics and photonics technologies such as spectrometers is a strong plus.
- Customer insight: Natural curiosity about customers’ applications to build strong relationships and develop winning product solutions.
- Communication: Excellent and proficient communicator across all levels of an organization.
- Time management: Strong prioritization and multi-project handling to meet business goals while working across multiple product lines.
- Technical tools: Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SolidWorks, Zemax, or similar tools is ideal.
