Role Summary

The Senior Product Owner leads the successful development and delivery of innovative products by bridging stakeholders across business, IT, and end-user groups. The position focuses on product vision, roadmap execution, and clear feature prioritization to support strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Maximize product value delivered through the Scrum team’s work.
• Define and communicate product vision, overall strategy, and growth opportunities to business and IT stakeholders with minimal guidance.
• Continuously refine vision, roadmap, and strategy to improve business value outcomes.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate product ideas into a prioritized backlog based on business value or ROI.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, iteration reviews, and retrospectives to support continuous improvement.
• Facilitate Product Grooming Backlog sessions to align priority and strategy for cross-functional collaboration.
• Maintain accountability across development stages by evaluating progress and deciding whether the team proceeds to next steps.
• Collaborate with Technical Product Managers and the Scrum master to support execution of the product roadmap.
• Anticipate future user and product needs through maintenance of user personas and journey maps.
• Create annual and quarterly plans to align product groups to roadmap deliverables.
• Independently manage direction updates related to product areas.
• Own and drive user-centric product outcomes with business and IT leadership.
• Research and analyze market trends and user needs to shape roadmap direction.
• Collaborate with other Product Owners and Product Managers to share best practices and maintain alignment within a value stream.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Field of study: Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (major or emphasis required).
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of related experience, including leading technical teams, collecting business needs, and translating requirements to a technical audience.
• Product ownership: Minimum 5 years in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, with experience launching and managing products or platforms.
• Certification: Certified Product Owner (CPO) required; SAFe preferred.

• Experience in the insurance industry.
