Job Description
Vice President, Product Designer in The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation's Wealth Services team, onsite in Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities
- Lead with a user centered approach, prioritizing user needs and research insights to create a seamless, intuitive product experience.
- Map end-to-end user journeys across customers, operations, servicing teams, and systems to uncover pain points and opportunities; align teams around a shared vision of user needs.
- Design complex web interfaces and workflows that are highly functional and visually engaging; craft intuitive layouts, navigation patterns, and interaction models for intricate systems; leverage animation and micro-interactions to guide users.
- Utilize advanced design tools to produce high fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications that clearly communicate interaction models.
- Contribute to and leverage a global design system to ensure visual consistency; develop reusable workflow patterns and components for cross team use.
- Apply knowledge of designing and maintaining complex systems to translate intricate requirements into clear design solutions that support user understanding and interaction.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align design efforts with business goals while respecting technical constraints.
- Communicate design concepts and rationale effectively to diverse stakeholders; use storytelling to convey the product vision and secure alignment.
- Mentor junior designers and foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, user experience, or related fields.
- A portfolio is required to be considered for this position.
- The portfolio should demonstrate substantial expertise described above and serve as a visual indicator of qualification.
