The Product Owner position at Sun, Inc. directs the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the AWS platform, enabling scalable, secure, and high performing digital solutions across the organization. The role shapes the roadmap, prioritizes workstreams, and ensures AWS services deliver tangible value to stakeholders. This position is based onsite in Southfield, Michigan.
Overview
The Product Owner leads the vision, development, and ongoing refinement of Sun's AWS platform to support scalable, secure cloud capabilities. This role is accountable for shaping the product roadmap, aligning development efforts with business goals, and ensuring cloud services deliver measurable outcomes for stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and clearly communicate the product roadmap, prioritize feature improvements and release timelines guided by user insights, business objectives, stakeholder needs, and current technology trends.
- Collect input from residents, business stakeholders, and internal users and translate it into concrete features and requirements.
- Collaborate with the business analyst and development team within an agile framework to ensure well defined requirements and on time feature delivery.
- Work with UX and UI designers to craft intuitive and polished digital experiences.
- Act as the domain expert and advocate for portal capabilities and digital resident engagement across the organization.
- Track usage analytics, user input, and market trends to guide continuous improvements and new innovations.
- Continuously enhance AWS platform capabilities to boost reliability, scale, and efficiency across systems.
- Opportunities may arise to lead further cloud initiatives, including platform modernization, data infrastructure, or AI/ML enablement on AWS.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (Required).
- Minimum five years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in digital product development (Required).
- Experience with cloud platforms, with a focus on AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway (Required).
Technologies
Experience with AWS based cloud services and related components, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway. Knowledge of iOS practices is also relevant.
