Job Description

The CAO Data Analytics & Insights team at Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Agile Data Product Owner to lead the delivery of enterprise data products. This contract role focuses on bringing together reporting, analytics, data governance, regulatory compliance, and business decision-making outcomes by translating strategic priorities into an actionable product backlog and measurable value.

As the business owner for a defined data product area, you will partner across teams to refine what gets built, ensure it meets acceptance criteria, and monitor adoption, value realization, and data quality outcomes in a regulated environment.

What you will do

  • Own, prioritize, and manage the product backlog for the defined data product area.
  • Define and refine features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and PI Planning.
  • Partner with Product Managers to align delivery with roadmap objectives.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Data Governance, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and competing priorities.
  • Review and accept completed work against the defined acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor product adoption, value realization, and data quality outcomes.

What you bring

  • Authorization to work for ANY employer in the U.S.; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Experience as a Product Owner in Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of data products, data management, and analytics solutions.
  • Experience translating business requirements into data capabilities, including data sourcing, data quality, reporting, analytics, metadata, and lineage.
  • Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk, compliance, and control requirements in regulated environments.
  • Agile certifications are preferred: CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM, SAFe Agilist, or PMI-ACP.
  • Experience with enterprise data warehouses, cloud data platforms, data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality initiatives.
  • Financial services experience is preferred.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as banking, insurance, or healthcare.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
