Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Agile Product Owner (Planner) to lead the Planner Product Team within the C2BMC Planner Product on the RA ART in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The role centers on delivering value for the Planner application in the C2BMC missile-defense program, with on-site work and up to 10% travel, and requires an active Secret clearance. This position sits at the intersection of defense planning, software development, and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the Planner Product team within an Agile development program
  • Gather and align stakeholder requirements to ensure continual customer value delivery
  • Prioritize Planner needs to support multiple Task Orders and products across development phases
  • Contribute to the overall C2BMC Program Roadmap
  • Monitor progress and report status to RA and Program Leadership
  • Interface with the customer Planner Program Office
  • Collaborate with other Product Teams and ARTs to plan and execute C2BMC releases
  • Coordinate with the Planner Support Cell, Training, Platform & Infrastructure, and Technical Leadership Teams, and communicate priorities to the Product Team
  • Support the preparation and presentation of briefings and demonstrations to the customer and other stakeholders
  • Support C2BMC CAMs with EVMS baseline, management, and reporting
  • Aid in developing proposals
  • Develop applications for mission or defense planning
  • Experience developing and integrating containerized software
  • Collaborate with third-party providers and external teams
  • Manage and create cross-program roadmaps while tracking dependencies
  • Engage in business development activities
  • Interface with warfighters to understand emerging needs

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, plus 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD with 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application (required to start)
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Proven leadership in full life cycle development of large, integrated DoD systems, including requirements development, design, implementation, testing, fielding, and maintenance
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner
  • Proven experience identifying customer needs and prioritizing requirements
  • Experience with Earned Value Management within a software development setting
  • Knowledge of common software development and management tools, including Maven, Git/GitLab, Nexus, and Eclipse
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies
  • Understanding of standard systems engineering artifacts such as Use Cases, Requirements, and SysML diagrams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong familiarity with Missile Defense concepts, BM/C2 systems, mission or defense planning, modeling and simulation, defense communications, and the BMDS
  • Effective team management and leadership in an Agile environment
  • Experience with DoD integration procedures, Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps approaches, and automated testing tools
  • Development of command and control system applications
  • Understanding of software integration and formal testing
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and RMF requirements
  • Willingness and flexibility to handle unforeseen tasks
  • SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner certification strongly preferred
  • Proven stakeholder management experience within a large, complex development program
