Job Description

The World Bank Group is seeking an Associate Product Owner (ITSRA) for an onsite role in Washington, DC. In this position, you will combine business analysis with product and portfolio management responsibilities to support Capital Markets capabilities within Treasury, including counterparty credit risk, limits, compliance, and related valuations and trade lifecycle.

You will help translate business needs into requirements, test artifacts, and operational procedures, while coordinating stakeholders and governance to move initiatives from concept through post-launch support. The role also involves collaborating with technical and fiduciary reviewers, participating in procurement activities where COTS solutions are needed, and supporting training for business users.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Business Analyst for the Capital Markets line of business within Treasury, covering counterparty credit risk management, limits management, compliance, valuations of issuances/buybacks/derivatives, trade lifecycle, and associated applications.
  • Build stakeholder consensus so participants share the same understanding and can visualize the proposed solution.
  • Develop business cases, requirements, use cases, test plans, test strategies, test cases, and operational procedures and plans.
  • Coordinate with fiduciary reviewers such as Enterprise Architects (including OIS) by providing required information and supporting security testing based on their artifacts.
  • Support procurement of COTS solutions when necessary, including preparation of RFPs, cost estimates, benefits realization summaries, inputs for the procurement committee, and IT Governance.
  • Prioritize requirements effectively and maintain scope under tight timelines.
  • Document business processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Tech Leads, Solution Architects, Developers, and others to assess whether solutions exist internally or externally, or whether new solutions are needed to meet business requirements and project milestones.
  • Use rapid prototyping approaches to present as-is and to-be processes/workflows along with rough solution designs.
  • Support design, testing, and implementation of applications for the business unit, including developing training materials and conducting training.
  • Maintain a comprehensive chronological trail of requirements and agreements; contribute to project change control by documenting and managing issues and actions.
  • Participate in evaluation of new products or initiatives to determine technology support needs.
  • Evaluate applications and IT environments, analyze gaps between current and desired states, and propose recommendations grounded in industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with vendors and oversee deliverables, including reviewing proposed solutions and delivered code.
  • Train business users on applications.
  • Maintain established Business Analysis processes and quality standards.
  • In a post-production environment, troubleshoot systems and provide solutions to business and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with 5 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience in the Treasury/capital markets domain, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid understanding of the Counterparty Credit Risk function.
  • Practical working experience in Treasury and Capital Markets domain.
  • Working knowledge of credit limits management and compliance function.
  • Understanding of trade workflow and front and back office business processes.
  • Substantial experience in the Risk Management domain within a globally distributed enterprise.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in complex financial or technical environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in stakeholder engagement, product backlog management, product roadmaps, product requirements analysis, product development lifecycle, market research, and sprint planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in business acumen, Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban), and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and SQL (required).
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets trading systems (such as Murex or Summit).
