Job Description

The College Board is seeking a Director, Analytics & Business Intelligence to strengthen Digital Product Operations through practical product metrics dashboards and an evidence layer that helps teams improve how they plan, measure, and execute. This role partners across product and ProdOps leadership to define what matters, ensure data governance, and coach teams to use insights independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and build product metrics dashboards covering roadmap maturity, Productboard field completeness, and roadmap change patterns across 15+ Digital Product teams.
  • Partner with Product leaders and PM/POs to define what “healthy” looks like for each metric, including baselines and targets that reflect meaningful improvement.
  • Design dashboards that are self-serve and easy to interpret, enabling product teams to understand health data without ProdOps translation.
  • Create executive-ready dashboards with minimal oversight from the Senior Director.
  • Identify data gaps and partner with the Planning & Tooling Governance Director to ensure tooling standards support required measurement.
  • Build and maintain a measurement framework that tracks how effectively the product organization adopts ProdOps-driven ways of working, including planning practices, tooling standards, and process changes.
  • Define adoption metrics for major ProdOps initiatives before launch, specifying what “adopted” means and how adoption will be measured from day one.
  • Provide a documented interpretation of adoption data, diagnose whether gaps reflect awareness, capability, process design, or resistance, recommend a course of action to stakeholders, and own follow-through to confirm whether the intervention worked.
  • Track change management signals across the product group, including awareness rates, behavior change indicators, and differences between leading and lagging adoption signals.
  • Maintain ongoing dashboard quality across product and ProdOps metrics to keep data current, accurate, and trustworthy.
  • Establish governance standards for metric definitions to ensure consistent interpretation and prevent measurement drift.
  • Conduct regular data quality audits, addressing gaps, inconsistencies, or stale information before they appear in leadership or team reviews.
  • Partner with the Planning & Tooling Governance Director to align metric definitions with tooling standards and support accurate measurement through field governance decisions.
  • Document metric definitions, calculation methods, and data sources in the ProdOps Info Hub to support transparency and maintainability.
  • Coach PM/POs to read and act on roadmap health dashboards, translating data signals into product decisions and planning adjustments.
  • Coach the ProdOps team on interpreting function effectiveness metrics, clarifying what the data indicates and where to focus improvement efforts.
  • Design coaching approaches that build data literacy so teams can operate independently rather than relying on ProdOps interpretation.
  • Identify patterns where teams misread or ignore metrics, and surface these themes to the Senior Director and the relevant director to inform targeted interventions.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis within a digital product or technology organization.
  • Experience measuring and driving organizational change, including distinguishing awareness from behavior change and owning intervention design and follow-through when adoption stalls.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity, defining what to measure and how as the function establishes its ways of working.
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboards and metrics frameworks that teams actually use, with evidence of adoption and action.
  • Strong understanding of product management practices, including roadmap maturity, backlog health, and planning consistency, with the ability to design accurate metrics.
  • Strong data governance instincts, including precise metric definitions, clear documentation, and prevention of measurement drift over time.
  • Familiarity with Productboard, Jira, and Confluence as data sources, including extracting meaningful signals from product management tooling.
  • Comfort with SQL and APIs to extract and validate data, even without being the primary technical builder.
  • Strong coaching and communication skills to translate data into actionable guidance for non-technical audiences without losing accuracy.
  • Ability to travel 5-7 times per year to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board business.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Clear and concise communication skills in written and verbal formats.
