Job Description

Join Collectors to lead UX research that directly shapes how products are built for card collectors. This hybrid California role sits within the Customer Insights team, where you will set research direction, build a high-performing research practice, and turn insights into company-level decision making. You will partner closely with Marketing, Product, Design, and Engineering, and guide a team that delivers clear, rigorous evidence for product strategy and design execution.

What you’ll do

  • Set the UX research strategy by defining and driving a research roadmap, identifying critical knowledge gaps, and prioritizing work that influences company-level decisions.
  • Partner across functions as a senior leader with Marketing, Product, Design, and Engineering to connect insights and support decision making.
  • Lead and execute research independently and with your team across generative, formative, and summative studies to support product design and development, including ethnography, interviews, surveys, concept testing, and usability studies.
  • Mentor and raise craft standards by guiding the user research team, setting clear direction, and maintaining a high bar for research quality.

What you bring

  • 7+ years of UX research experience, ideally with exposure to consumer technology, collectibles, sports, or fandom.
  • People leadership experience with at least 2+ years managing others.
  • A strong view of what “excellent” looks like and the ability to coach others to reach it.
  • Mastery across methods, with a broad qualitative and quantitative toolkit and a track record of research that impacted real business outcomes.
  • The ability to moderate interviews and conduct user research independently.
  • Strategic clarity to translate ambiguous problem spaces into research questions and connect findings to product strategy.
  • Judgment on which data and methodology fit the question (for example, deciding between primary research and behavioral data, or usability and market research).
  • Strong communication skills to deliver a coherent narrative to audiences ranging from product teams to senior leadership.
  • A collaborative approach that builds buy-in while navigating competing priorities.
  • A reputation for being an honest, transparent partner at every level.
  • Adaptability and a tech-forward mindset, including understanding how AI is transforming research.
  • Comfort encouraging experimentation with new tools while maintaining quality and rigor.

Benefits

  • Health Insurance: Full-time employees can enroll in Medical, Dental, and Vision.
  • Additional Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for fertility, commuter, and educational assistance benefits.
  • 401(K) Matching Plan: Competitive 401k matching plan.
  • Vacation: Flexible time-off for salaried employees.
  • Holiday Pay: Ten company paid holidays for regular, full-time employees.
  • Employee Discounts: Discounts on select grading services for approved submissions.
  • Flexible Hours: Many teams offer flexible schedules with varying shifts and will work with your needs.
  • Fun Working Environment: Participation in celebrations, holiday events, and team building activities.

Compensation: USD 163,308 - 267,038 per year.
