Lead Associate Principal, Product Owner
Job Description
The role at OCC in Chicago offers a hybrid work arrangement with a salary range of USD 129,800 to 184,500 per year, focusing on maximizing product value, aligning business interests, and guiding cross functional teams through roadmaps in a hybrid agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison for Financial Risk Management and other stakeholders on the product backlog and development efforts
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to surface needs and translate them into backlog items
- Lead and interpret requirement workshops with vendors, stakeholders, and product owners; help define backlog items and acceptance criteria
- Maintain ongoing communications with senior and mid-level management
- Coordinate material preparation for Management Committee, Board of Directors, and regulatory meetings as needed
- Preserve and communicate the product vision and roadmap
- Interpret regulatory requirements and drivers affecting development goals and plans
- Assess product changes and propose necessary process and system updates
- Work with cross-functional teams to shape and prioritize the backlog
- Refine backlog items to ensure readiness for development
- Pursue cost effective optimization of product delivery
- Partner with technology teams to advance strategic plans for system development, integration and deployment at OCC
- Coordinate with project owners/managers, the technology lead, and the Scrum Master to ensure adherence to hybrid agile practices and timely issue resolution
- Coordinate with Model Risk Management and Quantitative Risk Management to validate models and methodologies during change management or annual validations
- Maintain backlog transparency and ensure stakeholders understand backlog items
- Ensure traceability from requirements to deliverables
- Ensure compliance with non-functional requirements
- Adhere to product delivery controls and procedures
- Continuously monitor and assess the backlog to ensure stakeholder value
- Identify scope gaps by analyzing current and future state capabilities, including legacy systems
- Proactively identify and escalate risks and issues to leadership
- Track vendor performance against statements of work where applicable
- Deliver on complex business needs efficiently and with room for improvement
- Provide indirect supervision to product team members distributed across business and technology groups
- Promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Occasional light travel may be required
Requirements
- Experience as a Product Owner within a hybrid agile environment is required
- Solid knowledge of agile product management practices and development processes
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate information, and to prepare concise oral and written reports
- Skill in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
- Capable of meeting deadlines while juggling multiple tasks
- Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively as needed
- Experience in financial services with in-depth knowledge of options and derivatives markets
- Strong grasp of risk and P&L attribution, margin processing, referential data, market data, and time series
- Broad knowledge across multiple asset classes including equities, rates, volatility, commodities, and currencies
- Experience with CCP clearing and settlement of derivatives and regulated capital markets infrastructure
