Product Manager
Job Description
The Product Manager on the Saatchi Platform team oversees Toyota's largest platform initiatives, coordinating strategy, backlog prioritization, and cross-functional delivery while managing the digital production budget and scope. This onsite role is based in El Segundo, CA, with a yearly salary range of USD 105,000 to 120,000 and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Direct the execution of high-priority enhancements to digital web and product experiences via an agile process, including developing future vision roadmaps and documentation, creating briefing materials for project execution (Epics and user stories), guiding on best practices and client context for creative execution, assessing how work integrates with other efforts, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders; note that the original data contains the fragment "gro" in this area.
- Translate the product strategy into a detailed, prioritized roadmap with well-defined user stories and features that realize the product vision and support the client in achieving core business goals and long-term advantages.
- Set objective product goals with clear success and acceptance criteria, using meaningful metrics, KPIs, and measurable business outcomes.
- Act as the voice of the customer within the cross-functional team, consistently representing and prioritizing customer needs.
- Develop iterative solution hypotheses from team experience to guide development, and validate learnings through user testing.
- Serve as the first point of contact for resolving requirement questions, dependencies, issues, and risks with technical partners and the client.
- Oversee the delivery and fidelity of execution from translation of annotations with technical partners through to user acceptance testing and product launch.
- Help define the optimal architecture for content management and ensure long-term maintainability of the product after launch.
- Facilitate internal and external discussions to foster collaboration across stakeholders.
- Direct scope and resource planning and monitoring to execute the roadmap while aligning with client priorities.
- Identify opportunities for internal and client-facing growth through new project or feature ideation, crafting roadmaps mindful of future business considerations, and presenting solutions to current or potential issues within the internal and client landscape.
- Improve internal workflows to maximize team performance, connecting details to the bigger picture and forecasting steps to meet milestones and overcome roadblocks.
- Ensure appropriate team involvement at each project phase, drive communication, and foster collaboration to prevent obstacles.
- Identify shifts in timing, deliverables, and resources, and communicate potential impacts to other scope managers, connecting platform initiatives with related efforts beyond the platform itself.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with the client, teams, and vendors, developing influence without formal authority.
- Inspire, lead, and mentor a high-performing team to continuously improve the development of best-in-class digital products and services.
Requirements
- Seven plus years of client-facing digital product experience with roles in account management, project management, production, and/or product management within an agency or digital product development context; experience with enterprise or large-scale website or platform management is preferred, with automotive or similarly scaled client experience a plus.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong client relationships by proactively offering recommendations grounded in business context and creative opportunity; strong client service skills include documenting feedback, soliciting viewpoints, and anticipating questions or challenges.
- History of driving digital projects from inception to delivery, including client management, creative guidance, scheduling, budget management, and adherence to technical development best practices; capacity to manage multiple work streams concurrently while meeting deadlines and maintaining documentation.
- Experience delivering critical work with a discerning eye, elevating output through an informed agency perspective.
- Technical expertise with the target software stack (for example microservices, cloud platforms, programming languages) to shape product strategy and roadmaps; translating business value into detailed specifications, influencing architectural decisions, managing technical debt, and ensuring scalable delivery across the development lifecycle.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, with emphasis on cross-dynamic communication and the development of junior staff.
- Comfort with a broad range of technologies, including consumer websites, site development, user interfaces, responsive/adaptive design, mobile apps, and devices used for gaming.
- Experience with requirement documents such as BRD/FRD to establish traceability from KPI to use cases defining solutions.
- Experience managing requests that require integration with multiple back-end systems, such as APIs and data feeds.
- Familiarity with basic web programming languages (HTML, JavaScript) and web design tools, with knowledge of code development platforms, languages, and content management systems (AEM or similar); proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Google Docs, PowerPoint, Keynote, Acrobat Pro, Smartsheet, AI tools, and PM tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana).
