Product Manager II
Job Description
Google's YouTube Growth Platform team is seeking a Product Manager II to steer ML driven content promotions and watchtime optimization. You will lead ranking and cross functional initiatives to drive growth in content promotion and engagement on YouTube. This onsite role is based in San Bruno, CA with a salary range of USD 163,000 to 237,000 per year and requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience along with at least five years in product management.
Responsibilities
- Guide the growth platform ML roadmap to achieve content promotional goals, prioritizing watchtime and free feature usage.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science to develop a ranking function for content promotions using signals such as predicted watchtime and conversion rate.
- Partner with OTT technology and Marketing teams to drive incremental watchtime during livestreams and cultural moments.
- Establish principles and guardrails for the types of content promotions we will support.
- Advocate the impact of the growth platform on content promotional goals across YouTube Tech teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of product management experience, including bringing technical consumer products from concept to launch.
- Experience with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies.
- Experience building ML ranking algorithms to drive engagement.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, UX, and Marketing to deliver platform features.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
- Experience with digital advertising products or growth marketing technology.
- Experience with ML experimentation methodologies.
- Experience delivering technical presentations to executive leadership and securing buy in for ML driven product ideas.
- Experience with ads relevance improvement for consumer products.
- Passion for the YouTube ecosystem and an understanding of platform growth levers for both creators and viewers.
