Product Manager, Public Sector

Help governments put Claude into real production workflows. Anthropic’s Public Sector team works on product paths that support consequential government work, from benefits claims and veteran care to investigations, unemployment insurance, and the analyses leaders rely on. In the US and some allied governments, Claude is already used daily across major agencies and US states. This role shapes how government model and product offerings fit into agency workflows, while helping teams navigate compliance requirements and partner integrations.

What you’ll do

• With GTM, conduct product discovery inside government institutions to identify where Claude belongs in the production path, then shape the offering around what you learn
• Own product decisions for government models and product offerings, including the agency workflows built on top of them
• Identify government needs that are worth generalizing, and carry them into Anthropic’s broader roadmap (many commercial features began as public-sector customer problems)
• Support Anthropic’s navigation of government compliance regimes
• Partner with cloud and integration partners to connect Claude to the systems where agencies need it

What you bring

• Experience shipping successful products end-to-end, with strong product judgment prioritized over domain credentials
• Evidence that you’ve built something that was your idea, grounded in observing how people work rather than relying only on requirements documents
• Ability to drive outcomes through teams that do not report to you, including partner teams across Anthropic and teams in multiple offices inside each agency
• Ability to set pace and execute with autonomy, including shipping in fast-cadence organizations or environments where you set the tempo
• Domain intuition developed quickly in large enterprises that vary widely from one another
• US person eligibility, as agreements with the US Government mandate this for these roles

Strong candidate signals

• Roughly 7+ years building and shipping products, or equivalent scope
• Real intuition for how government operates, gained from inside government, a digital services organization, or product work public servants actually use
• Experience turning public-sector or field requirements into a commercial product that succeeded
• Fluency with AI products, including evaluations and model behavior as part of the product surface
• Experience shipping within a FedRAMP, classified, or comparable compliance boundary
• Experience negotiating with or steering large partners such as cloud providers or systems integrators
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with the US government (relevant for only some roles)
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Logistics

• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
• Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
• Minimum years of experience: Correlates with internal job level requirements
• Location-based hybrid policy: Expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time (some roles may require more)
• Visa sponsorship: Offered, but not for every role; if an offer is made, Anthropic will make reasonable efforts to help, with an immigration lawyer supporting the process

Compensation: Annual salary range is $305,000 - $385,000 USD.
