Product Operations Manager (Consumer Data / Marketing Technology)
Job Description
The Product Operations Manager (Consumer Data / Marketing Technology) translates defined product direction into coordinated, execution-ready work. This role drives delivery across product, technology, and business teams by refining requirements, aligning stakeholders, managing workflows and traceability, and supporting platform integration lifecycle activities through validation, launch, and transition to ongoing operations.
Delivery Planning and Workstream Execution
- Convert Product Owner-defined direction, prioritized scope, and high-level requirements into executable delivery plans and actionable workstreams.
- Organize intake processes and manage backlog quality, including Jira workflows and Confluence documentation.
- Maintain end-to-end requirement traceability from intake through delivery.
Requirement Elaboration and Validation Readiness
- Expand defined requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, documented business rules, process documentation, and validation scenarios.
- Identify gaps and clarify needs with the Product Owner and technical partners as requirements and technical details are refined.
- Develop working knowledge of platform capabilities, implementation patterns, and governance requirements to identify delivery needs, dependencies, risks, and approvals.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate cross-functional teams spanning Marketing, Technology, Data, Privacy, Security, Procurement, agencies, and external partners to support project execution.
- Lead project planning and working sessions to align stakeholders, remove blockers, communicate progress, and reinforce accountability.
- Address delivery-level ambiguity and execution challenges through practical problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration, staying within established direction.
Platform Integration Lifecycle and Operations Transition
- Coordinate platform administration and integration lifecycle activities across access, taxonomy implementation, data mapping, and environment readiness.
- Support testing, launch, monitoring, support, migration, and offboarding, following established governance and vendor onboarding processes.
- Maintain documentation for integrations, data flows, business rules, support processes, and reusable implementation practices.
Governance, Issue Resolution, and Program Health
- Partner with engineering, architecture, governance, and vendor teams to investigate issues, evaluate solutions, and validate end-to-end delivery.
- Monitor project health, track milestones and delivery outcomes, and escalate decisions affecting scope, priorities, business rules, governance, architecture, or specialized technical matters to the appropriate owners.
- Improve operational processes, templates, workflows, and delivery standards to increase efficiency and consistency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, product operations, program delivery, business systems analysis, marketing technology, data platforms, or a related field.
- Experience converting defined business or product direction into delivery plans, detailed requirements and work items, acceptance criteria, process documentation, validation scenarios, or implementation activities.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders, matrixed teams, and external vendors or partners.
- Experience managing complex programs, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and implementation readiness activities.
- Experience learning and applying repeatable implementation patterns, operating procedures, and governance requirements to new or related delivery scenarios.
- Hands-on experience supporting digital, MarTech, consumer data, or technology platform implementations, including integrations and operational readiness activities.
- Strong problem-solving and execution skills, including the ability to resolve delivery-level ambiguity within established direction and recognize items requiring escalation.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience translating technical, business, and data concepts for diverse audiences.
- Ability to collaborate with technical teams and understand platform capabilities, data integrations, and governance requirements without serving as the primary engineer or architect.
