Product Owner

Matlen Silver is seeking a Senior Product Owner to oversee the team backlog, craft user stories, and deliver value within a SAFe Agile Release Train. The role emphasizes close collaboration with cross-functional teams to align with the product vision and roadmap and is an onsite position based in Omaha, Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to clarify the product vision, roadmap, and feature prioritization.
• Own and govern the team backlog, ensuring priorities reflect business value and strategic objectives.
• Draft comprehensive user stories with clear acceptance criteria and functional requirements for Agile teams.
• Participate in PI planning, sprint planning, system demos, retrospectives, and Inspect & Adapt sessions within SAFe.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure requirements are well defined and executable.
• Represent the customer perspective to ensure delivered solutions meet business and operational needs.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration across development, QA, DevOps, and business units.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts related to Agile processes, backlog governance, and delivery efficiency.
• Support risk identification, dependency management, and release planning activities.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst in a technical environment.
• Extensive experience applying Agile, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies.
• Experience supporting cloud-based applications and platforms on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience operating in fast-paced enterprise settings with multiple competing priorities.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical stories.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with government systems or within regulated industries.
• Background supporting enterprise SaaS or platform-based products.
• SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification or equivalent Agile credentials.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience collaborating with cloud engineering or platform modernization initiatives.
