Product Owner
Job Description
PeopleTec, Inc. is hiring a Product Owner for our Huntsville, AL (onsite) location. In this role, you will lead product direction and delivery planning for a hybrid, multi-cloud, multi-network infrastructure and runtime platform. You will own the product vision, backlog priorities, roadmap inputs, and customer and stakeholder engagement, while aligning execution to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
What you’ll own
- Define, communicate, and own the end-to-end product vision for hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure, including networking, storage, and shared runtime services.
- Own the infrastructure backlog: create and prioritize for value and ROI, write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, validate readiness, and refine continuously based on feedback.
- Build a product roadmap from epics, features, and user stories; provide roadmap and delivery dates to the Program Manager for integration into the IMS.
- Contribute product line vision and objectives that inform program-level objectives.
- Establish scope boundaries, assumptions, and phase entry and exit criteria; manage scope changes and tradeoffs.
How delivery comes together
- Define milestones, deliverables, and entry/exit criteria in partnership with the Technical Lead.
- Produce the content of contract deliverables and confirm readiness for submission; hand off to the Deputy PM for completion tracking and delivery.
- Present prioritized items and support the scrum team in defining the Sprint Goal; manage scope changes within the sprint.
- Facilitate Backlog Refinement; present the increment at Sprint Review and incorporate feedback.
- Accept or reject completed work against acceptance criteria and be available daily for questions and clarification.
Customer engagement and risk management
- Lead product-level customer engagement and stakeholder communications as the liaison between stakeholders, product and delivery teams, and infrastructure engineers.
- Engage stakeholders to validate priorities, surface emerging needs, and gather customer feedback each sprint to adapt the backlog.
- Monitor progress toward product goals, proactively mitigate product risk, and ensure alignment to product outcomes.
- Plan release cadence and content, including coordinated upgrade and change windows for consuming teams; collect user feedback after each release.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or equivalent delivery role on an infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering team.
- Demonstrated experience owning product vision, backlog, and roadmap, and driving Agile delivery (Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review) with engineering teams.
- Experience defining scope, milestones, and acceptance criteria, including supplying roadmaps and delivery dates to a program-level schedule.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud, Kubernetes and containers, and enterprise networking sufficient to write acceptance criteria and make informed prioritization, scope, and acceptance decisions.
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder engagement skills, along with written communication and decision-making abilities, including explaining tradeoffs.
