Product Owner, Supply Chain & Procurement
Job Description
Versant Media is seeking a Product Owner to own the vision, roadmap, and prioritized backlog for SAP S/4HANA capabilities that support procurement, inventory, and related finance processes. This role delivers scalable solutions across procure-to-pay and connected order-to-cash workflows within an Agile delivery model.
Core Responsibilities
- Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog for supply chain, procurement, and related finance capabilities.
- Define customer and business problems to solve, desired outcomes, and success measures across the end-to-end workflow.
- Convert business objectives into prioritized epics, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and incremental release plans.
- Balance customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, risk, compliance needs, and delivery timelines.
- Break larger initiatives into smaller releases to support continuous delivery, learning, and measurable improvements.
- Define and monitor KPIs covering adoption, process efficiency, procurement compliance, spend visibility, inventory accuracy, and user satisfaction.
- Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with procurement, supply chain, finance, warehouse, sales, customer service, and IT stakeholders.
- Assess current-state workflows, pain points, and control requirements for procure-to-pay and connected order-to-cash processes.
- Facilitate future-state process design, identify gaps and dependencies, document decisions, and align stakeholders on scope and priorities.
- Validate assumptions using stakeholder feedback, operational data, and system insights before major investment.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows using SAP capabilities, process simplification, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Maintain deep understanding of core procurement, inventory, finance, and cross-functional business processes.
- Partner with SAP functional consultants, engineers, QA, integration teams, and data teams, while coordinating with business process owners to remove ambiguity.
- Define integration requirements across SAP S/4HANA MM, SD, FI/CO, warehouse operations, tax, payment, logistics, customer, supplier, and third-party systems.
- Validate end-to-end business and accounting impacts across requisition-to-payment, inventory, sales-order-to-billing, and financial reporting.
- Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
- Prioritize defects, enhancements, and change requests based on business impact, urgency, risk, compliance, and roadmap value.
- Support implementation activities including master-data readiness, data migration, testing, cutover planning, release readiness, hypercare, and post-launch stabilization.
- Coordinate business testing by defining test scenarios, test data, acceptance criteria, and success measures for end-to-end processes.
- Support system integration testing, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, and business sign-off.
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
- Communicate product strategy, roadmap priorities, progress, trade-offs, risks, and dependencies to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain organized documentation in Confluence, including business-process materials, requirements, decisions, and release information.
- Use Jira and Slack to manage backlog transparency, delivery workflow, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution.
- Support change management through training materials, process documentation, release communications, stakeholder demonstrations, and adoption feedback.
- Build trusted relationships across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Technology, and external implementation partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, SAP functional delivery professional, or similar role in a technology-driven organization.
- Experience owning and prioritizing a product backlog in an Agile delivery environment.
- Experience delivering SAP S/4HANA procure-to-pay, materials management, inventory, finance integration, or related enterprise capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including requisitioning, purchasing, approvals, receiving, inventory, invoice verification, supplier management, and payment workflows.
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA MM and FI/CO integration concepts; familiarity with SAP SD and order-to-cash processes preferred.
- Experience supporting SAP implementations, including testing, data migration, cutover, or post-go-live stabilization.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, QA, design, data, integration, and SAP functional teams.
- Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ability to write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and business requirements.
- Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
