Product Owner - Workplace Services Technology Solutions
Job Description
Viasat is investing in workplace technology that supports real facilities operations, from space planning to maintenance and visitor experiences. As the Product Owner – Workplace Services (WpS) Technology Solutions (onsite in Carlsbad, CA), you will set the product direction, drive delivery with Global IT and operational partners, and continuously improve software platforms used across Workplace Services and Corporate Real Estate.
What you’ll do
- Direct the product strategy, roadmap, lifecycle management, and ongoing improvement for facilities technology solutions.
- Develop and maintain a product vision for workplace and facilities-related technology, including IWMS, CMMS, hybrid office reservation, facility service requests, and managed print platforms.
- Partner with Workplace Services, Corporate Real Estate, Security, EHS, and IT to identify business needs and technology opportunities.
- Prioritize enhancements and investments using business value, risk, resource availability, and alignment to organizational goals.
- Define success metrics and measure product performance against key business objectives.
- Own and steward the facilities technology platforms as the primary guardian for systems such as IWMS, CMMS, reservation systems, service request platforms, and managed print solutions.
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, including business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with technical teams, suppliers, and implementation partners to deliver improvements and projects.
- Participate in Agile planning, testing, release management, and deployment activities.
- Lead roadmap execution for incorporating Artificial Intelligence, automation, and sophisticated analytics into workplace technology.
- Seek opportunities to implement generative AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics that improve operational efficiency, user experience, and decision-making.
- Assess emerging AI technologies and industry developments, while ensuring AI initiatives align with corporate governance, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Analyze WpS business processes to identify automation and efficiency opportunities, ensuring systems support functions like space planning, occupancy reporting, preventive and corrective maintenance, asset and work order management, and facility utilization analytics.
- Drive standardization across sites and locations for facilities operational processes, including print services initiatives to optimize fleet utilization, reduce operating costs, and improve employee experience.
- Represent the customer perspective, facilitate workshops and requirement gathering sessions, and communicate roadmap updates, priorities, project status, and system changes to business partners.
- Manage relationships with software vendors and service providers, including evaluation of new capabilities, upgrades, and emerging technologies, plus coordination of implementations and integrations.
- Participate in contract renewals, licensing reviews, and vendor performance assessments.
- Ensure data accuracy, governance, and integrity across facilities systems, and maintain operational dashboards and analytics.
- Support reporting for space utilization, occupancy, maintenance performance, asset lifecycle, and visitor activity, and identify opportunities to apply data to strategic decision-making.
- Lead user adoption and training, develop user documentation and support materials, collect user feedback, and incorporate improvements into future releases.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Systems Analyst, Product Manager, or similar role.
- More than 3 years supporting Facilities, Real Estate, Workplace Services, or related business areas.
- Experience managing enterprise software platforms and business applications.
- Ability to gather and document business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaborator leadership skills.
- Experience working with multi-functional teams including Facilities, IT, Security, and external vendors.
- U.S. Citizenship required.

Helpful experience
- Experience leading IWMS, CMMS, or workplace technology platforms such as MRI Manhattan IWMS, Eptura/Condeco/Engage, Accruent CMMS, and PrinterLogic.
- Experience with system integrations, APIs, and enterprise architecture concepts.
- Knowledge of workplace analytics, occupancy planning, and advanced building technologies.
- Familiarity with secure printing, follow-me printing, document workflow automation, and print governance guidelines.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
Salary range
- $141,500 - $224,000 per year
- For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area, and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is $176,000 - $264,000 per year.
