Remote Technical Analyst (Product Owner)

Transworld Systems Inc. is seeking a Remote Technical Analyst (Product Owner) to bridge business intent and application delivery. In this role, you translate business requirements into detailed technical user stories, support planning and refinement activities, and help teams understand how requested changes will impact systems, data, and integrations.

This position is based in Manhattan, KS with a remote setup. The salary range is USD 75,000 to 92,000 per year.

What you will do

• Review business requirements and user stories to clarify the requested outcome, business rules, and scope.
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical user stories for development and QA.
• Document system behavior, data needs, dependencies, edge cases, and relevant technical considerations.
• Write clear acceptance criteria that define how completed work will be evaluated.
• Identify gaps, assumptions, or conflicting requirements, and work with stakeholders to reach resolutions.
• Keep technical stories aligned with approved business needs and delivery scope.
• Read and interpret existing PHP code to understand current system behavior and assess impact of changes.
• Use MS-SQL to investigate data, validate assumptions, and connect requirements to existing databases and processes.
• Analyze how changes may affect applications, integrations, APIs, data flows, reports, and related system components.
• Collaborate with developers to clarify technical questions and refine stories as implementation details emerge.
• Act as a communication link among business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and QA.
• Explain technical details and system impacts in language business partners can understand.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and development discussions.
• Support QA by clarifying expected system behavior and acceptance criteria.
• Communicate changes to requirements, dependencies, and scope to the appropriate stakeholders.

What you bring

• Experience as a Technical Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role supporting application development.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical user stories.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL to query and interpret data.
• Ability to read PHP code and follow application logic.
• Understanding of application architecture, databases, integrations, and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience writing acceptance criteria and documenting business rules, dependencies, and edge cases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills across technical and business teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience supporting legacy applications or systems undergoing modernization.
• Familiarity with Laravel/PHP and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience in financial services, accounts receivable management, loan servicing, or student lending.

Schedule and work conditions

• Hours: M-F 8am-5pm CT (some nights or weekends may be required from time to time)
• Travel: little to no travel
• Work is primarily indoors.
