Senior Associate, Product Manager - Business Cards & Payments
Job Description
Capital One is hiring a Senior Associate, Product Manager to support Business Cards & Payments (BC&P) in New York, with onsite work. In this role, you will help shape product development using a hypothesis-driven approach to data, collaborate across product and engineering teams, and apply AI tools in both personal projects and feature work.
You will break down business epics into actionable work, build roadmaps that consider risk and required processes, and help drive toward efficient delivery such as the lowest effort path or an MVP for valid feature testing. The position also emphasizes technology awareness and architecture strategy to deliver well-managed product platforms for customers.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with technology teams to define comprehensive acceptance criteria, identifying where additional research is needed to inform future feature design
- Translate business epics into features and user stories, guiding the team toward the lowest effort or Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for feature testing
- Use hypothesis-driven assessment of data to confirm product and feature delivery meets real business needs, demonstrating a growth mindset
- Own and prioritize feature development roadmaps while ensuring required processes and procedures are followed to manage risk
- Work autonomously in an agile environment, conducting research and developing features that leverage new and evolving technology
- Partner with designers, technologists, data scientists, and subject-matter experts to build solutions that support customers
- Deliver customer-facing product platforms by understanding technology trends and architecture strategy
- Participate in horizontal forums to build trusted relationships across tech teams, designers, internal stakeholders, and partner teams
- Articulate a succinct product roadmap that delivers business value and communicates progress to stakeholders, serving as a product subject-matter expert
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 1 year of product management experience, or at least 1 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering
- Demonstrated interest and aptitude for AI in product work
- Experience proactively incorporating AI into personal projects, exploring AI-driven development environments such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot, or building automations using AI agents
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
- 1+ years translating business strategy or analysis into consumer-facing digital products
- 1+ years working on core product platforms that power digital experiences
- 1+ years working with cross-functional teams as a product owner in an agile development process

Compensation and benefits
- Salary range: USD 121,300 - 138,400 per year (New York, NY)
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation
- Performance-based incentive compensation including cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI)
