Senior Manager, Product Design
Job Description
Capital One seeks a Senior Manager, Product Design (people leader) to guide product direction and design execution for the Navigator Platform in the Experience Design organization.
Responsibilities
- Work at the intersection of B2B enterprise design and AI innovation.
- Elevate experiences that help dealers build meaningful relationships with car buyers.
- Drive innovation across dealer-to-customer messaging, campaign tools, and conversational AI experiences.
- Set a high bar for execution by coaching individual contributors on pattern discipline and component usage, while championing iconic customer experiences.
- Act as a cross-functional bridge across product, engineering, and stakeholders to solve complex problems across the Navigator Platform ecosystem.
- Co-create solutions to complex challenges, influence product strategy, and build a high-performing design team culture.
- Apply established expertise across interaction, visual, and service design.
- Oversee and optimize the use of appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems.
- Create design artifacts including vision stories, journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
- Reinforce an inclusive team environment by setting goals aligned to portfolio strategy, managing stakeholders, removing barriers, and training and developing designers.
- Shape product outcomes using deep design expertise, user insights, and business understanding.
- Lead alignment across product, tech, and business partners, keeping user needs central to strategy and enabling bold solutions to complex problems.
- Advocate for human-centered methodologies using data, research insights, and mature problem-solving judgment.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of products, processes, customers, competitors, and market trends to guide how Design engages.
- Own the problem-solving approach (issue, impact, resolution), apply good judgment across alternatives, and use leadership input for alignment.
- Bring creativity to exploring the solution space.
- Engage partner expertise across the organization to support workstreams, identify the right people, and embrace compromise to solve strategic challenges.
- Present work across levels and functions, modeling a strategic human-centered approach that makes complex topics accessible and drives stakeholder buy-in.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role.
- At least 6 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- At least 2 years of experience in a people leadership role.
- At least 8 years of experience in a Product Design role.
- At least 8 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Experience working with and contributing to an established design system.
- Experience collaborating with product, tech, and business leaders.
- Experience leading design projects or teams.
- Experience working in heavily regulated, data-heavy problem spaces.

Salary and Incentives
- Plano, TX: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Design.
- This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
