Job Description

Ameriprise Financial is seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead Digital Collaboration capabilities within the Ameriprise Client Secure Site. This role partners across Agile teams to drive adoption outcomes for advisors and clients while ensuring product strategy, roadmap, and delivery are tightly aligned.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead one or more Agile Scrum teams delivering digital collaboration outcomes that support the broader Client Secure Site strategy.
  • Represent customer and business priorities by defining roadmap and backlog priorities, and ensuring delivery aligns to measurable advisor, client, and enterprise outcomes.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and translate business and user needs into prioritized roadmaps, user stories, and backlog items in collaboration with engineering and UX.
  • Improve advisor and client adoption by enhancing how clients and advisors prepare for meetings, enabling online meeting capabilities, and supporting collaboration between regular interactions.
  • Partner across Digital, Advice, Advisor Tools, Advisor Technology, UX, and engineering to identify opportunities, remove friction, and advance a cohesive digital collaboration experience.
  • Develop and execute a product vision and roadmap focused on measurable business and customer outcomes.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor progress against goals, and share results with stakeholders and the team.
  • Serve as the primary product partner for business stakeholders, aligning priorities, consulting on strategic needs, and balancing customer value, adoption, and enterprise objectives in the roadmap.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen the client-advisor relationship through ongoing assessment of customer needs, adoption trends, and business goals.
  • Adjust product strategy with leadership as priorities evolve.
  • Manage the annual product budget in partnership with the Product Owner Director to support delivery of priority outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of product management or product owner experience, including at least 3 years in an agile, software-based environment.
  • Proven ability to lead product discovery and strategy in addition to delivery.
  • Strong experience translating business strategy and customer insights into clear product direction and roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners such as design and engineering without direct authority.
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative data (analytics, research findings, customer feedback) to guide product decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate vision, tradeoffs, and outcomes.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills across multiple initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on digital products within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong partnership experience with UX research and design teams.
  • Background or certification in Agile frameworks (CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, Scrum Master).
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to facilitate visioning, discovery, and alignment workshops.
  • Experience with product discovery, road mapping, and backlog tools (Jira, Productboard, Confluence).

Compensation and Work Details

Location: Minneapolis, MN (hybrid).

Base salary: USD 114,500 - 157,400 per year (estimated base pay). Initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location.

Employment type: Full time.

Exemption status: Exempt.

Hybrid Collaboration Expectations

Employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different expectations, which will be discussed during the hiring process.
