Senior Product Owner – Municipal Bonds

Vision Square Inc is hiring a Senior Product Owner to lead product vision and delivery for Municipal Bonds primary market workflows. This onsite role in Charlotte, NC focuses on end-to-end execution across issuance, syndication, pricing, allocation, and settlement, with an emphasis on building efficient, transparent, and audit-ready processes.

You will partner with front office, syndicate desks, operations, and technology teams within a scaled Agile operating model. The work spans defining roadmap priorities, shaping user stories and acceptance criteria, and driving adoption with senior stakeholders across the business.

What you will do

• Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for Munis issuance, syndication, pricing, allocation, and settlement workflows, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate in a scaled Agile model with front office, syndicate desks, operations, and technology to deliver efficient, transparent, and audit-ready execution.
• Build deep expertise across the Munis deal lifecycle, including new issue workflows, order book management, allocations, and investor distribution.
• Own and execute the Munis platform roadmap (for example, Deal Central / issuance platforms) aligned to strategic priorities.
• Drive front-to-back workflow integration to ensure seamless data flow across origination, syndication, and settlement systems.
• Work with syndicate desks, bankers, sales, and operations to identify pain points and prioritize high-impact improvements.
• Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and outcomes to senior stakeholders, including C-suite, and support business user adoption.
• Own and prioritize the program and product backlog, balancing regulatory, business, and platform modernization priorities.
• Lead delivery across 1 to 3 cross-functional Agile teams, maintaining alignment and value delivery.
• Define and refine user stories and acceptance criteria with focus on automation, data integrity, and client transparency.
• Make real-time trade-off decisions between new features, regulatory requirements, and platform stability.
• Ensure high-quality feature delivery and acceptance with emphasis on scalability and resilience.
• Drive automation and straight-through processing (STP) across Munis execution workflows.
• Support user training, demos, and change management to improve adoption and user experience.

What you bring

• 8+ years of experience in Municipal Bonds primary markets, including issuance, syndication, pricing, allocations, and settlement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Finance, or related field; MBA/MS preferred.
• Deep understanding of the Municipal bond issuance lifecycle for competitive and negotiated deals.
• Deep understanding of syndication, pricing, and allocation processes.
• Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in Munis markets.
• Experience working directly with front office (syndicate/trading desks) is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of fixed income products and market structure.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and driving timely resolution.
• Excellent communication skills, including presenting complex topics to business and executive stakeholders.
• Experience leading large-scale platform initiatives and user experience improvements.
• Strong Agile experience, including backlog prioritization, story writing, and acceptance criteria, using JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience working in global, cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with reporting/BI tools and standard productivity tools such as MS Office and Visio.
