Senior Software Product Owner
Job Description
MiniMed is seeking a Senior Software Product Owner to set product priorities for the evolution of its Shared Services platform, with close collaboration across platform teams and customers.
Responsibilities
- Support 1 to 2 Scrum teams aligned to a common identity or capability
- Build, groom, and maintain the product backlog, including writing epics, features, and stories for shared understanding and delivery execution
- Write and collect input for acceptance criteria at the user story level
- Partner in lockstep with software development teams, Scrum Masters, and delivery leaders to keep priorities clear, backlogs executable, and stakeholder messaging aligned
- Collaborate with Architect, DevOps Engineers, Technical Component Owner, Technical Leads, Software Developers, Testers, Scrum Master, and other stakeholders to evolve the platform
- Act as a change agent within Software Operations and Software Development, helping teams and the broader organization adopt change
- Sync regularly with product owners across related capabilities and products to maintain a cohesive customer experience across the product space
- Partner with platform customers and development teams to ensure platform release communication includes features and dependencies needed for successful customer use
- Own accountability for a product’s impact on software developers, testers, customers, users, and Medtronic
- Establish and drive KPIs for the platform, including SLOs and SLAs
- Source input from Architects, DevOps Engineers, Software Developers, Scrum Masters, Product Management, and other sources
- Lead shared understanding of what to build and justify why through discussion and documentation
- Extend shared understanding to Scrum teams executing the work
- Play a critical role in sprint demos, using them as a feedback loop for validating intended impact, including asking most questions to people outside the team
- Ensure work is tested for quality, configured for observability, and documented to support customer enablement from internal operations through software development teams and at the customer level
- Make the call on when enough value has been created to release
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field AND 4+ years of Software Engineering, Product Development, or Product Management
- OR Advanced Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field AND 2+ years of Software Engineering, Product Development, or Product Management

About the Role
- Senior Software Product Owner role within the Software Operations Organization
- Define priorities for evolving the Shared Services platform as a product by balancing internal and external stakeholder input
- Serve as a technical liaison between the platform team and platform customers, including software developers, operations teams, and other business customers
- Responsible for defining the “What” and “Why” to maximize platform value for the business and customers

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $87,000.00 - $149,000.00
- For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $97,000.00 - $165,000.00 USD
- Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location

Salary: USD 97,000 - 165,000 per yearly
