Software Product Manager

Own the EW Mission Applications product roadmap and operator-facing software capabilities across shared engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the EW Mission Applications product roadmap, including what is committed, queued, and declined, with explanations; keep it current enough for program management and engineering leads to plan against
• Run a single intake path for product requirements from programs, customers, partners, and internal teams
• Provide each request a scoped and sized answer: accept, defer, or decline, including a reason for the decision
• Define operator capabilities before design and engineering begin, including the problem, workflow, and acceptance criteria used by QA for integration coverage
• Deconflict competing program demands on shared engineering teams using a written, defensible prioritization framework
• Represent EW Mission Applications in recurring device API review activities: bring integration needs, justify priority, agree on build order with embedded engineering, and track requests through delivery
• Partner with UI design on operator workflows and with QA on test coverage, owning the requirement behind both
• Convert recurring field issues from mission software engineering into roadmap items and test coverage on a standing cadence
• Track delivery commitments against actuals and publish outcomes to improve future estimates and build trust in release commitments
• Brief stakeholders at every level (engineers, program leadership, customers) on delivery status, roadmap changes, and risks without oversimplifying technical nuance
• Travel up to 25% to support integration events, deployments, field visits, and customer engagements

Requirements

• 5+ years in software product management, technical product ownership, or a closely related role
• Direct ownership of a product roadmap, with authority and a track record to decline work
• Demonstrated ability to write requirements and acceptance criteria that engineering and test execute against
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing the roadmap, running prioritization calls, and briefing leadership
• Experience owning a software product surface dependent on hardware or firmware built by teams you do not control
• Experience deconflicting priorities across concurrent customers or programs competing for the same engineering capacity
• Ability to read and navigate codebases and API surfaces (no production coding required, but able to understand what is changing and its cost)
• Comfort operating with incomplete information and requirements that evolve
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI security clearance
• Willingness to travel up to 25%

About the role

• Software product role focused on what ships to the operator
• EW Mission Applications builds software between the device and operator, including operator applications, Lattice integrations, shared visualization components, and internal tooling used across the business line
• Own the roadmap for the operator-facing surface: which capabilities reach operators, through which channel, and in what order
• Delivery occurs through multiple channels, each with different users, timelines, and definitions of done
• Engineering is organized by product surface rather than by program, so teams support several programs at once
• Role is product-focused and technically grounded: understand the device SDK boundary, client architecture, and integration surface well enough to distinguish blockers from preferences and negotiate scope with embedded engineering

About the team

• Anduril’s Electronic Warfare division builds next-generation electronic warfare platforms that are hardware-enabled and software-defined
• EW platforms are fielded, operational, and designed to scale quickly
• Operating tempo includes delivering novel system configurations into active operations in days, not months, and securing major contract awards in under 24 hours
• Production scaling from hundreds to thousands of units across multiple product variants increases release and delivery challenges

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with operator-facing or mission-critical software where the end user is not the buyer
• Multi-channel product experience delivering one capability through several front ends, client applications, or partner platforms
• Familiarity with the DoD software ecosystem, including CDRL cycles, ATO processes, and program-of-record cadence
• Prior experience in defense technology, electronic warfare, command and control, ISR, or RF systems
• Experience with geospatial or real-time visualization software
• Experience defining products against a hardware roadmap and an SDK or device API boundary
• Experience with edge deployments where systems operate disconnected or in degraded network environments
• Experience scaling product processes during a rapid production ramp

Compensation and location

• Location: Costa Mesa, CA (onsite)
• Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 per year
