Solutions Architecture Product Owner
Job Description
Lead integrated solutions architecture and systems engineering for the Missile Defense System C2BMC capability.
Responsibilities
- Own the backlog of architecture artifacts; prioritize capability delivery and ensure each increment meets stakeholder expectations.
- Define operational, physical, functional, and technical architectures that guide an evolving C2BMC capability (Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications).
- Architect missile defense command and control and battle management systems using existing COTS/GOTS components while ensuring DoD interoperability.
- Translate high level mission needs into cohesive hardware/software solutions.
- Analyze requirements and articulate target capabilities to developers, engineers, SMEs, and users.
- Produce and maintain system models, interface control documents, and functional flow diagrams.
- Design and develop new systems, modernize legacy platforms, and drive the roadmap for architectural evolution.
- Lead portions of design efforts and support internal and external design reviews with clear written and oral technical presentations.
- Develop and oversee system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities.
- Serve as the focal point for developing and communicating the system architecture.
- Ensure mission requirements are converted into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints (TRL).
- Develop system and system element architecture, design, and interface definition.
- Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies and design/analysis methodologies.
- Develop models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
Requirements
- Final secret clearance required for consideration.
- Extensive track record designing, developing, and integrating complex command and control or battle management solutions.
- Strong foundation in systems architecture with experience leveraging frameworks such as DoDAF, MODAF, or TOGAF.
- Experience translating mission requirements into complete, technology ready system solutions while respecting TRL constraints.
- Experience supporting internal and external design reviews, including producing models and architectural guidelines that influence current initiatives and future development.
- Ability to manage stakeholder priorities and define acceptance criteria for each architectural release.
- Deep understanding of DoD and missile defense C2BMC architectures, system concepts, and standard test and data analysis techniques.
- Ability to identify, define, and communicate desired capabilities to technical and non technical audiences.
- Proficiency creating architecture artifacts, including functional diagrams, interface definitions, and data models.
- Structured, logical analytical approach to refining high level needs into integrated hardware/software solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication, including concise, persuasive technical presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex architecture activities, mentor junior team members, and drive cross functional alignment.
- Certified Product Owner is a plus.
- Certified Architect (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
- Experience integrating COTS/GOTS components and applying DoD interoperability standards such as MAUD and STANAG.
- Familiarity with model based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as SysML, Enterprise Architect, and MagicDraw.
- Prior work on missile defense or other high threat, high availability command and control programs.
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

- Approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.
Pay Information
- Full-Time Salary Range: $148,300.00 - $275,500.00 (annual)
- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position; payments are not guaranteed and vary based on performance metrics.
- Washington state applicants only: non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of PTO and at least 90 hours for holidays; represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and at least 96 hours for holidays; PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
