Job Description

Lead integrated solutions architecture and systems engineering for the Missile Defense System C2BMC capability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the backlog of architecture artifacts; prioritize capability delivery and ensure each increment meets stakeholder expectations.
  • Define operational, physical, functional, and technical architectures that guide an evolving C2BMC capability (Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications).
  • Architect missile defense command and control and battle management systems using existing COTS/GOTS components while ensuring DoD interoperability.
  • Translate high level mission needs into cohesive hardware/software solutions.
  • Analyze requirements and articulate target capabilities to developers, engineers, SMEs, and users.
  • Produce and maintain system models, interface control documents, and functional flow diagrams.
  • Design and develop new systems, modernize legacy platforms, and drive the roadmap for architectural evolution.
  • Lead portions of design efforts and support internal and external design reviews with clear written and oral technical presentations.
  • Develop and oversee system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities.
  • Serve as the focal point for developing and communicating the system architecture.
  • Ensure mission requirements are converted into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints (TRL).
  • Develop system and system element architecture, design, and interface definition.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies and design/analysis methodologies.
  • Develop models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.

Requirements

  • Final secret clearance required for consideration.
  • Extensive track record designing, developing, and integrating complex command and control or battle management solutions.
  • Strong foundation in systems architecture with experience leveraging frameworks such as DoDAF, MODAF, or TOGAF.
  • Experience translating mission requirements into complete, technology ready system solutions while respecting TRL constraints.
  • Experience supporting internal and external design reviews, including producing models and architectural guidelines that influence current initiatives and future development.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder priorities and define acceptance criteria for each architectural release.
  • Deep understanding of DoD and missile defense C2BMC architectures, system concepts, and standard test and data analysis techniques.
  • Ability to identify, define, and communicate desired capabilities to technical and non technical audiences.
  • Proficiency creating architecture artifacts, including functional diagrams, interface definitions, and data models.
  • Structured, logical analytical approach to refining high level needs into integrated hardware/software solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, including concise, persuasive technical presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex architecture activities, mentor junior team members, and drive cross functional alignment.
  • Certified Product Owner is a plus.
  • Certified Architect (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
