Job Description

The Industry Product Manager role, based onsite in Pella, Iowa, is a strategic position at Precision Pulley and Idler (PPI) focused on shaping product strategy for conveyor components, guiding development and cross-functional launches, and driving performance with travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a product strategy aligned with company goals and market needs by analyzing customer trends, identifying opportunities, and prioritizing features and benefits.
  • Perform market intelligence to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive activity, applying insights to guide product decisions.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering to craft concepts, specifications, and design plans, and support business cases for new programs.
  • Oversee product development and go-to-market initiatives by defining timelines, coordinating resources, and ensuring progress stays on schedule.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance to ensure products meet established standards.
  • Drive demand forecasting for new and existing products, align with manufacturing, and pursue improvements in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering to enable successful launches, including pricing, promotions, inventory, and distribution planning.
  • Plan and execute product launches and promotional activities, including marketing campaigns, sales enablement, customer support programs, and industry association involvement.
  • Monitor product performance, collect customer feedback, and adjust strategies to support sales and profitability goals; manage pricing across the product lifecycle to sustain growth as products mature.
  • Perform related duties as required to support business objectives.
  • Maintain regular and dependable attendance.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field, plus 5–8 years of product management experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40 percent as business needs require.

About the Company

Precision Pulley and Idler (PPI) was founded in 1977 by six individuals who believed in supporting small Iowa communities and supplying quality products to the industrial conveyor pulley market. Today, the company employs more than 1,000 people and operates 25 facilities across 13 locations, including manufacturing plants, warehouses, service centers, and offices, plus a technology and training center in the United States and additional manufacturing and service capabilities.
